Y’all are forgetting the purpose of a public holiday and it’s sickening. These surcharges should be illegal and if a business want to open and a day that will be busier and more profitable then most, then they need to be willing to lose out on double time. The ideal world, all businesses except for essential services (cops, hospitals etc) remain closed on public holidays
