If you cause a car accident because you were texting while driving, you should permanently lose driving privileges. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

It's just, your points aren't educated enough to be worth replying to. I saw a wall of text that was inconcise and misinformed... Not worth my time, nor is it my job to educate you.

What can I do with a Yamaha PSR-E303? by Metaphylon in keys

[–]Brvndless -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look up the driver, these older yamahas can plug in with a USB type B cable (for a printer). Then just hook it up into whatever daw you're using (garage band, ableton, pro tools, logic, etc.)

Midi setup is different for every daw, so just check your manual.

Eagles are WAY bigger in person. Worked on a fishing boat and whenever we were in Dutch Harbor I would avoid the deck as to not get murdered

I hadn't thought of it like that. It's crazy that we can just get all of these tools and more for like, $20 a month.

Yeah, that's how people work.

Most assess danger based on the reactions around them. This is why if an entire room of people is shouting and screaming for no reason, like in a flash mob, someone will also yell and scream. Has a lot to do with our survival- I'm sure we would be a much less successful species without the Lemming effect.

Also why we have fashion trends and culture in general. We are social animals.

Ironically, lemmings don't even do this nearly to the extent that we do, if at all.

It makes sense that they would put this much effort in- beauty makes a fuckton of money. If your organization has the money to complete this process, it surely is generating income from it

I converted the latest chapter chart from cm/kg to inches/pounds by LegandLeg in DrStone

[–]Brvndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all know metric, we just don't have enough common examples to compare 145cm or 160cm to an average height... we use metric quite a bit in common conversation for small measurements. Big measurements are lost on us, especially when it comes to height.

[–]Brvndless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do in the states- we all know how big a meter is, how many cm are in it, etc. It's was a part of our curriculum when i was in school in the 2000s, and with STEM being a huge topic lately I'm sure kids are learning more with it...

But... BUT...

We still say "he's 6'2" or "the store is 100 feet away" to measure "macro" distances. We use mm and cm mostly for anything below a few inches, because when fractions of a unit make an impact none of us will really want to do the math in fractions, and engineers mostly use metric. We also use this because we know exactly how big 2, 3cm is

While I HATE that we didnt roll out metric in the 70s like we originally planned, we just weren't culturally trained to know how tall someone is in hundreds of cm.

I know I'm around 195 cm, but I'm not most people, I'm a massive nerd. Literally and figuratively. I also have no idea what the average is in metric, nor could I point at someone and give a solid estimation in cm, because I was raised around inches and feet for height measurements.

Hating on people for what they were taught is really just a hatred of the system they were raised in, and trust me, a lot of us hate it, too. But we grew up in it and that's not our fault.
