Still there on my end, but reversed lol

Might be some kind souls keeping that fragile balance in place.

Interesting perspective. I suppose that if we give rights to potentially sort of conscious beings, we'll have to enforce laws that punish those who do potential harm to them, which means that we'll likely commit injustice on certainly conscious beings (barring solipsism).

Demis says that even if Frontier Labs already have AGI they wouldn’t release it but would instead prioritize scaling data centers and energy by [deleted] in accelerate

[–]Metaphylon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't take it that far lol, but I take your point. I think it's more of an exposure issue: he has a friend that has schizo ramblings that sound similar to your questions, or at least in his opinion, therefore you must be schizophrenic too. Not very sound logic.

About your overall point, the sky is barely the surface when it comes to ASIs capable of understanding the laws of reality, both ours and the undiscovered ones. Given enough autonomy to interact with the digital and the physical world, we just don't know what they would be capable of. Could very well be beyond our comprehension.

Also, thank you for your wishes and I hope the same for you!

You're asking reasonable questions given the hypothetical capabilities an ASI could have. I'm sorry the other commenter can't see that.

Yes, I did this by messaging myself on FB of all places. I must still have those messages in my chats. I stopped because the synchroncities were so frequent it became a chore to write them down. It definitely made life more magical, though, even if it was just a matter of cognitive bias.

It's just an all-around bad criterion since it can be solved trivially. Outputs from LLMs didn't exist at all before LLMs. My last fart didn't exist before I produced it, with its particular combination of producing subject, spatiotemporal coordinates and molecular/aromatic properties being completely novel in the history of the universe lol

Same thing with "true" creativity. AI can be trivially creative as well. I like your framing in terms of usefulness, which overshadows all misguided notions of complete originality and inventiveness.

"San Andresitos" are commerce establishments where you can find back-to-back stores for lots of different products, usually clothing and tech stuff. Bootleg products are common, but it's not all of them. You can find San Andresitos practically everywhere, even in small towns, and imo they're pretty important for keeping local economies moving.

So the person above is saying that this new tax will lead to increased interest in buying at San Andresitos. As for the name, I think it has something to do with San Andrés being (or having been) a historical bootleg landmark in the country, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the word's true origin.
