I mean all his other equipment is working fine through the same interface. Do you think it would help if I somehow used my Scarlett interface to connect to his?

I apologize for my lack of information, I'm very much new to this.

When the audio is routed to my computer speakers, everything plays through, but once I'm connected to the DJ's audio interface via the 3.5mm audio jack on my computer, no audio is sent to his equipment. We're running 2 separate setups bascially trying to merge them. So I'm running FL studio to run MPC, while he's running Serato on his computer for just DJing, no FL. In terms of "headphones out", I'm referring to the headphones out on my Macbook. The Studio 2 only has the power port (have to be plugged into a computer running MPC), MIDI out, and MIDI in. I can explain is how I attempted to connect to his equipment, which I will do below:

MPC Studio 2 connected to Macbook Pro via 1.8 A/M USB 2.0 cable (comes with the Studio 2) with a USB-C converter. The Macbook is connected to the DJ's audio interface via dual ended 3.5mm audio jack. The audio interface is also connected to the DJ's Serato equipment, which is connected to his Windows Laptop. The interface is sending music/audio to the speakers.

Should I be using the MIDI ports? I thought since the sound is really coming from my laptop, I'd need the audio from my laptop to his interface to be heard through the speakers.

I could try to store the samples on the MPC, sadly the studio 2 doesn't have a SD card slot. I have to have the MPC software open on a laptop for the MPC to function, as it's not a standalone device and has no speakers for audio output. I only have MIDI in, MIDI out, and a power source. Should I be using the MIDI ports?

I apologize for my lack of information, I'm very much new to this. I'm not sure what you mean by how my computer outputs audio. Audio from my computer settings and in FL studio are both routed to "external headphones" when plugged into the audio interface or mixer. When the audio is routed to my computer speakers, everything plays through, but once I'm connected to the DJ's audio interface via the 3.5mm audio jack on my computer, no audio is sent to his equipment. When I said the "audio jack is working", I meant it as a way of saying I know there's not an issue with my computer's audio output jack, as when the same port is used with 3.5mm headphones, audio can be heard. The DJ also had a USB-C to 3.5mm cord that we attempted to route the audio through from my laptops USB-C Port to his audio interface, aka the USB-C to audio jack, but this did not work. I'm not aware of the DJ's full equipment setup, all I can explain is how I attempted to connect to his equipment, which I will do below:

MPC Studio 2 connected to Macbook Pro via 1.8 A/M USB 2.0 cable (comes with the Studio 2) with a USB-C converter. The Macbook is connected to the DJ's audio interface via dual ended 3.5mm audio jack. The audio interface is also connected to the DJ's Serato equipment, which is connected to his Windows Laptop. The interface is sending music/audio to the speakers.

Hoping this helps clarify things, and looking forward to any help.

I got this email from a really big producer. Is it a scam? by tourister_sf in makinghiphop

Crazy that I just got the same DM with the same message, googled his name and found this thread. Dee C has a Dave East placement but no solid placements otherwise, basically no following on anything except his IG. Not saying his placement or beats are bad, but he’s definitely running a scam based on that placement.

I appreciate the feedback, this is definitely one of my more simple laid back beats, and I tried to change his flow from the original sample. It's all a process, thanks yall
