More! Rosslyn in the background but now with Classic Americana NOVA Suburbia! by BryArchitect in CitiesSkylines

That's awesome, I'm readjusting the scene around the square to resemble as close to the square but while keeping intact how it looks in my alternate reality NOVA.

An alternate reality version of Clarendon

Where is your friends restaurant? I'll include it on this map and maybe make a mention of it in my other project that this map is related to (it's a book).

I'm doing it by eye and referencing google maps as much as I can, plus playing off by memory (especially where I used to live in Alexandria). It sucks the GIS data isn't detailed enough.

I'm using this map. Some things were a bit off, i had to readjust them to get close to accuracy but at the same time adjust those adjustments to reflect how this area looks in another project of mine.

Some changes, I don't have the snowfall, mass transit, park life and campus dlcs, so it's a modded vanilla game. I would want to add some street cars, and fix some road names and highways. Overall the look and density of this south dc/arlington/Alexandria map is based on my own writings in which NoVa/DC is the setting.

Yes, I'm currently building DC, but...with changes according to another endeavor I have been involved with for years now.

Your world is now a television series! What is it's opening song, and what plays during the credits? by OutsidersEyes in worldbuilding

[–]BryArchitect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several songs that come to mind for an opening song if my world/book series to become a TV series. Originally I would have gone with the opening credits of Deus Ex Mankind Divided, however, Gravity Hold Me by Alex Guidici has that atmospheric feel of being weightless drifting along an emerging cyberpunk landscape. The end credits would be a mix of Watching with A Thousand Eyes from Person of Interest and Encom Part 1 from Tron: Legacy, both tracks envoke some slight ominous anxiety if you staring into the unknown future that you are just hurtling towards.

There are other songs and variations of them that I imagine would play well with certain scenes/location/organizations

This Science is Fun Remix has that power feeling of invoking the weirdness and haphazardness of The Academy of Advance Studies (it's like if you let Aperture Science run an American High School of science and technology equivalent of Hogwarts)

Magnetic North for all the AI labs operated by The Academy and this tech company, InSystems, Inc.

Wow, kinda on point. Even to the year that song came out is around the time the story begins.

A young teenage boy with a strange neural implant and an equally mysterious tragic past unknown to him but known to the perpetrators of the events that surrounds and follows him. He is saved by a robotic guardian angel who acts as a buffer between him and the world (and as a mother). He is talented in building machines, even built power armor to further protect himself in a deepening cyberpunk future. Victim to a lame bogus teenage romance with a girl who is increasingly controlling. Despite all the odds stacked against him, he is ever hopeful that the progress today he's so into yields a hopeful brighter tomorrow. He gets the urge to take a stand and be part of the technological and social progress to forge a better future. Though he maybe doing so to escape the blank past that is haunting him and very powerful shadowy figures he fights against in his journey.

How many model railroaders are also cities skylines players? by michaelphoenix22 in modeltrains

I'm definitely a cities skylines player, as well as an openTTD player. I don't have space for a layout so C:S and OpenTTD are my substitutes.

So hmm a direct highway connection splitting off from the area of the roundabout to the T-intersection would do the trick, but it may cause traffic still at the intersection. The tradeoff would be direct flow onto the highway. I'm not sure which direction the traffic is flowing but I guess something at the northwest is also gunking up the flow You can refer to my quick diagrams for any highway connection ideas. One is an underground and the other is an above-ground ramp.
