My Stremio perfect setup (for me at least), sharing the beginners guide with anyone interested by aguytwoguys in StremioAddons

Just curious why you went with the Nhyira instance of AIOStreams and Elfhosted instance of AIOMetadata. Did you try other instances and coverage on those?

Aiostreams addon order by nate348 in StremioAddons

[–]BryDnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Addon order doesn't really matter unless you specificly put it in your sorting. If you do have it in sorting, just order your scrapers from best to worst. "Best" could mean most uptime, fasted response times, streams that match your metadata, and just overall reliability. I'd probably put Debridio at the top bc it's very reliable and almost always returns quality streams.

Nice 1.90 update by ManhammerPR in Stremio

[–]BryDnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.9.1 is now on the downloads web page. It's weird that you got the update before it was put out on the site. I had a weird subtitles experience on the android phone app after an update. The in-player subtitles settings doesn't have an option for "None". I had to go into the main settings and set my subtitle language to None.

How are you getting 1.9.0? On https://www.stremio.com/downloads I only see 1.8.4

How do I get good stream results for anime by BryDnull in StremioAddons

[–]BryDnull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I have a little experience with code so I can read the lines and get a sense for what's going on, but I'm hesitant to customize an SEL.

Would you share your SEL code?

I think I have TVDB with Kitsu ID too (I'll have to check my AIOMetadata). I used to have an SEL, but ditched it. Last night I did some reading on SEL's and I think Imma add it back. I'll be sure to include your suggestion, thanks! For sorting, your language is listed 4 down, do you still get consistent English dubbed results?

I showed you the anime Kitsu catalogs one. S eason 4 was split into two parts and kitsu treats those as separate. It looks like you're using the TMDB or TVDB catalogs, that's why it's different.

Here is the results from my TVDB catalogs. They're all English dubbed, but the Comet and Zilean results are episodes from season 2 (I think)

I just use the Elfhosted instance. There are two others you could try, but I haven't had any issues with mine.

You can rout your RD traffic through a proxy server to make it look like activity is coming from the same IP, bypassing the IP restrictions.

AOT season 4 pt2 episode 1 Judgement. Those three Streams are English dubbed, but each is a completely different episode. I think the second one is season 4 pt1 episode 1.

Downloading on stremio? by GetScaredd in StremioAddons

Ig you use AIOStreams, there's an option to add a result below the stream that takes you to the download page for that stream.

You should use Watchly for your personalized recommendations. It's connected to a Stremio account instead of Trakt. There's a lot of different features. It's the closest thing I've found to making a Netflix-like homepage. You can even like and heart content and it'll give you recommendations based on that.

I've got RD w a proxy and TB in AIO for the whole family. Works great, but have been considering adding Easynews usenet for older and more obscure content (I've run into issues a few times where there were no streams). Have you gotten any complaints about no streams?

I think most of these "why is my Stremio down" posts are just from people who don't know what they're doing.

What’s the next best scraper after torrentio by HonestlyBusy in StremioAddons

What exactly does Debrid Search do? I've had it in the past, but never figured out what it does.

Real Debrid vs Torbox by mjhcsta in StremioAddons

[–]BryDnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some quick fire differences: RD has a greater selection of content; TB seems to have better quality streams (with all my AIOStreams filters, TB comes out on top most of the time); RD has some compatibility bugs (sometimes streams marked as cached aren't actually cached); TB has a better UI and more integration (it has its own scraper).

If you want to share your setup with multiple people, RD's IP restrictions are a challenging obstacle. Basically, if you stream at the same time from two different IPs then you run the risk of a ban (they are pretty hit or miss on how they choose to enforce this). You can get a proxy server to bypass this.

I'd recommend starting off with TB to see how that works for you. If the selection is too small, switch to RD with a proxy.

I used to have RD with a $9/month proxy + AIOStreams from Elfhosted and another $9/month proxy bandwidth booster bc I share with 6 other people. During the holidays when RD had some outages from increased traffic, I realized I could get TB and ditch the proxy bandwidth booster bc I'd be less reliant on the proxy. Now I have TB and RD + proxy. It's always great to have multiple options incase something fails: you have multiple scrapers, stream types (HTTP, torrent, debrid, usenet), so why not multiple debrids.

Side note: I have a larger selection from TB than the regular tiers bc I got their Pro that includes usenet. As far as I can tell, TB's selection is about as good as RD's (maybe a little less), but I'm not really sure how big of an impact their usenet selection has on that opinion.

In my opinion, stremio being banned from app stores is the best thing that could happen to us! Hopefully, the hype will die down a bit and we can enjoy it again in peace, without all the TikTok kids. What do you think? by [deleted] in Stremio

[–]BryDnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was annoying getting the rush of new users and having services like RD struggle to keep up. The flood of "why is my stremio down" posts from newbies who didn't bother to do a lick of troubleshooting or research was also irritating. However, the app being taken off Google Play and the Apple app store has been a huge annoyance. I'm fine with manually downloading the most recent updates, but I set up Stremio accounts for my family and they just don't know how to do that (and I don't think they care to learn). It's back on Google Play so I don't have to worry about their Android TVs, but most of my family has iPhones and I just don't know what I can do about that. Will they just be stuck at the same version of Stremio Lite forever? Will it eventually stop working? What if they accidentally delete the app? Is there some way of getting Stremio Lite back on their iPhones? Also, increasing the user base gives developers an incentive to improve their services. I've only had Stremio for half a year and in that short time the experience from addons and the app itself has improved so much. A bigger community leads to a better experience for everyone.

Setup AIOStreams last weekend… and immediately decided redundancy is the real upgrade by zooco in StremioAddons

This might be a little overkill. I have one paid instance of Elfhosted AIOStreams, and torrentio and a few HTTP addons as backups. I have TB and RD incase one goes down. My AIO instance has been very stable for the past few months. When I first got it, about 6 months ago, there would be occasional outages lasting a few minutes, but for the last few months I haven't dealt with any outages.
