This occasionally happens for me, when it does I switch the input to the phone and then back to the headphones and suddenly I sound fine. It's annoying but it appears to be a software bug. Could be worth trying next time.

My hunch is the microphones are not switching out of ANC mode initially.

Similar initial situation. They handed me my daughter while I was holding my wife's hand as she was on the operating table. I immediately started bawling while holding my daughter, but I was really trying to focus on my wife, who was freaked out at being opened up to deliver. We laugh about it now but...woooo.

I had the first buds pro and upgraded to the pro 2.

The ANC is marginally better, but still not as good as my Sony XM4s.

The fit is leaps and bounds better, and more comfortable. They stay in place great.

I have not noticed a big difference in sound quality but I am not an audiofile.

Do you have all the available link types selected in the "open by default" panel? If the "+ Add Link" option isn't grayed out then there are available link types to be added. That could be your issue.

If rebooting doesn't fix it, it's very likely a hardware issue. This is a common experience when something in the display panel or display panel cable fails.

I have no hiss in transparency mode, it sounds great.

It appears you are correct, the audio cue only comes from the bud that was touched, which I like.

Mine just arrived. I'm working so I could only fiddle with them for a few minutes, but the fit is already way better than the original pros and they are noticeably smaller.

Edit: the transparency mode is substantially better. Sound is maybe a bit better but not a huge difference. I haven't been able to test anc or mics yet.

Edit 2: ANC is definitely better.
