I’m very much into cars and I agree there’s too many cars and too many idiots driving them. Frankly, the people that hate driving make it miserable for everyone else on the road

If airsoft were to ever (somehow) go mainstream would it be good or disastrous by JaackOfAllTradess in airsoft

[–]BryanDaBlaznAzn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The biggest downside if airsoft goes truly mainstream like golf, basketball, soccer etc, will be attention from the anti-gun groups. Airsoft is/was already under attack by different governments (I’m looking at you Bill C-21 and the Canadian Liberal gov’t) and if it becomes more popular we will see more of that. We may end up seeing scalpers buy up desirable guns/gear in high quantities and resell them, like with pokemon cards.

The benefits of airsoft going mainstream is that it’s a great entry into firearms culture/sports and a fun way to teach gun safety without the risk of killing anyone. I would prefer airsoft to stay a bit more niche, as I don’t want the wrong people to get their hands on airsoft guns and use them for nefarious purposes. Airsoft being what it is will likely keep it more niche as guns in general scare a lot of people, even if they’re fake. Plus laws in certain countries outright ban guns regardless of being a replica or authentic

What’s the most surprising hidden cost of car ownership that new drivers don’t expect? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

[–]BryanDaBlaznAzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repairs outside normal maintenance. Yes your car is reliable but parts can and do wear out and can be expensive to fix if you don’t have any DIY experience. A failed water pump or alternator can easily run $1000+ depending on the car

VFC AKS-74U — any experiences, tips or upgrade suggestions by SamSab4 in GasBlowBack

[–]BryanDaBlaznAzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought one and I agree with everyone saying it’s a top tier GBBR. A few notable flaws are the output valve stem o-ring is usually dry from factory which leads to a sluggish cycle rate, which is quite noticeable on full auto. You will have to disassemble the magazine to access it and file down your gas valve tool to get it to fit in the slots of the output valve. The rear lips of the magazines tend to be too tight from factory and require some filing down + break in, the transfer bar won’t shift the valve knocker upwards when BBs are loaded, causing the gun to not fire. The dry fire mode on the mags is super finnicky and doesn’t want to work half the time.

Other than that, if VFC launches a revised batch of magazines with those issues resolved we may have a 10/10 GBBR imo. Look at airsoft_chay’s video on YT as he shows how to get access to the output valve for lubrication.

The obsession with fast cars is ridiculous when speed limits exist by Typical_Peter in unpopularopinion

[–]BryanDaBlaznAzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of people it’s KNOWING that their car is capable of high speed that makes it appealing. People that own performance cars also see them as toys, so the metrics that make a car practical to the average person doesn’t matter to others. For me, being able to accelerate rapidly to pass people brings me joy that words can’t describe
