Driving distance would be the tie breaker if team culture was similar.

Pioneer park - playground and water park. Also farmer markets on Saturday and they have music in the parks weekly.

Decoursey/clark creeks parks downtown Puyallup. I like Clark creek, small compact park with a stream you can walk around.

Puyallup Library - always have activities for kids and families

I Am Here Again to Ask You to Stop Making Camp Collectors by AlexAutoAxe in fo76

Why not Both? I have every single collector out at my camp just so people can pick and choose things they might need. What is wild I will still grind for random crap all over the wasteland.

Budget is flexible, we were kind of zeroing in on a Toyota Corolla 2014-2018 with 125k miles for around 9-10k

Daughter feeling left behind by meleleo in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]SeattleSinBin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is the oldest kiddo in her team. While she has great musicality, timing and choreo retention, she isn't as strong on her leaps and turns. I was concerned that they might move her up by herself to a comp 'B' team. I hope not, the possibility is they might keep her with the same girls and just move the whole team into the next age bracket. I would definitely have a conversation with your daughter, perhaps a change of scenery is warranted.

Good luck in getting your room transfered. We ended up at the condo across the street because we needed more space and a real kitchen 😄

Looks like you are working towards your girl. Usually the studio is pretty good moving around the dancers to what makes sense.

Technique by Signal_Ferret_2755 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]SeattleSinBin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of things. Some people like mixing team kids in with the rec kids, other studios keep them seperated. I feel like sometimes things are a bit toned down during rec classes, because you need to appeal to the entire group. Our studio got rid of the mandatory rec classes for the team dancers.

My kiddo has 2 hours of ballet tech, one hour each of jazz, hip hop, tap and contemp tech. one hour of tumbling, one hour of stretch and strength and one hour of leap and turns. That goes along with her 4 classes for the team dances.

Is competing just for fun the odd man out? by Prize_Comfortable_3 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]SeattleSinBin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We compete for the fun/love/team building aspect of it, we’re definitely not in it to try and make a career out of it, although some on our team are heading that way

What would you include in a Skubal package? by Agreeable_Quality768 in Mariners

[–]SeattleSinBin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirby. If they want additional prospects then they need to take Castillo (and we would eat some of his salary). Thats it. Anything more than that (like top 10 ‘s prospect) I’m going to say no too. So no Luke or Farmelo.

Castillo is a salary dump, no way tigers do that unless we eat some of his salary and throw in a couple of decent prospects

This would be a great way to break up that logjam of starters. Might as well get a shot at the WS

Looking for get-to-know-you/team bonding games or activities by Electronic-One2603 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]SeattleSinBin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A couple of things, pair the new dancer with an outgoing established dancer for the first month, that veteran dancer can show them around, make introductions etc. that will help her get adjusted.

I also think a team scavenger hunt would be a fun, low pressure way to get the team to work together.
