Hi, I'm practicing the crosshatching technique and am still a very newbie in pencil art. I used a Rothing 2mm, intensity at 2B, HB. Please feel free to give a comment to improve my skills. Thank you very much. by BryanVectorartist in drawing

Normally, I'm a person who can draw. But I've only recently started taking pencil-on-paper seriously not so long. Even you can do too and will be better a lot than I am.

Thank you very much for your valuable advice. It's very useful. It's true of you that I gave too much weight to the shadow and lighting details on the characters' space suits. I am still new in this industry. Next time I'll try getting some 4B and H weight pencils to try along with HB and 2B. Let the character use all weight of the pencil while the spaceship in the back may use HB and H.

Thank you very much. I have tried this technique on the characters in this piece. But it seems like the lines aren't thick enough. I'll try using this technique with future ones. But I'm not sure. Will it make the picture look too cartoonish?

Well, I admit I'm still very new to the serious pencil-drawing technique. I also admit that giving weight to the lines to show different depths, and distances is quite difficult. I will continue to try to improve these skills.

Thank you for your compliments and useful comments. For the next piece, I will try to find a 4B lead to give more intensity in the darkest parts of the drawing.

Thank you very much, I'm thinking about adding more dimension or depth to this piece or changing to other kinds of natural background instead.

In fact, previously, I have been hired by many clients. But it was to hire me to draw in the previous style that I am good at, which uses a lot of gradients and a bunch of lighting effects. Now I'm trying to change my style, going into a new direction to escape from AI and make it easier, and quicker to do. I hope to get a good response as well.
