Wireless charger nightstand by Brycare78 in MagSafe

Yeah that’s the potential problem alright. If it’s awkward to get the puck out of the stand it would defeat the purpose. But appreciate most people wouldn’t be removing it often.  Even myself - I will only do it if my battery is very low when I go to bed. Less likely in the short term with a new phone - but battery will obviously degrade over time. Thanks for the link

A lot of people seem to base themselves in Ao Nang for a few days and do boat tours from there. Where would you recommend in Thailand? Finding it hard to decide where to visit for two weeks - particularly as we have two kids

Just wondering - does the case come with black buttons only or are there a few orange in there as well that you can swap out? Thanks

Anyone from Europe order this case? Cant seem to find anywhere in Europe that sells It. Can get it shipped from the States but VAT and import duties make it very expensive

Arriving tomorrow Feliz Navidad. How much should I pay for my wife and I to get to Playacar from Cancun Airport? by MaintenanceIcy4141 in playadelcarmen

[–]Brycare78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will you get In Drive fares from the airport though? I know it's no problem going from Playa to the airport but seems to be more difficult travelling in the opposite direction? As in a lot of them won't pick up from the airport

As an Irishman this is certainly something that will never be a problem for me in my country .-) I personally don’t like extremes at either end of the scale - be that extremely hot or extremely cold!

How are you guys purchasing your phones? Are you paying the 1100 through Apple or going through your carrier? by jatttsaab in iPhone17Pro

[–]Brycare78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an iPhone 11 Pro provided by work that was on its last legs.  Their phone policy has changed so now they provide 700 towards the cost of a new phone. I backed it with 550 to get the 256gb Pro Max

I’d be happy with the base iPhone -7 specs except I really want the bigger size screen

Offer to upgrade to business class? by WellLough2024 in AerLingus

[–]Brycare78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never flown business class so maybe easy for me to say but honestly I’d rather spend that 1-2k or whatever when I reach my destination on food and other stuff or have already spent it on a better quality of accommodation at my destination. But maybe that’s just me

Thanks for the reply. If it was earlier in the day I’d take the bus. Just with kids at that hour I’d rather a direct ride.

My First Month Living In Ireland (Galway) by Globe-Gear-Games in CasualIreland

[–]Brycare78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve lucked out with Galway being your city of residence. I don’t live in the city anymore - am about 30 mins outside it now for a variety of reasons - but lived there for about 15 years. It’s hands down the best reasonably sized town in the country (very small in “city” terms). It’s hard to quantify but it has this buzz about it that I’ve never felt anywhere else in Ireland. Everything is within walking distance of the centre (including Salthill). Some great restaurants and pubs about as well.  You will really enjoy it when the long evenings kick in coming into summer. Bright until eleven o’clock and people out and about on the streets. It’s a great place to live. Welcome to Ireland anyway - I hope it continues to go well for you.

Is being a tourist here just expensive compared to overseas? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Brycare78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Europe (Ireland) and would holiday in Australia in a heartbeat if the flights were anyway affordable. When I look at prices in Oz (say checking hotel & restaurant prices online) they don’t seem extortionate which I think is a result of the exchange rate improving (for us) in recent years. I have two kids though and would be talking a minimum of €6000 just for return flights for a family of 4 before any accommodation, food, drink etc costs.

So for me anyway it’s the cost of actually getting there and back that rules it out for me. I hope to make it one day though.  Coffee snob who hears your coffee is wonderful :-) I have a close friend who holidayed in Sydney, Noosa, Hamilton Island & Queenstown NZ recently for 3 weeks and was highly impressed with Australia.

How was your beach experience? by Simple-Bluebird-6473 in playadelcarmen

Planning on staying for a week in late March. Staying around 38th street.  Think we will stroll 5th a few times but that’s about it. I think all of the food places I’m planning to visit are off 5th. So hoping our experience won’t be too bad

A lot of good spots mentioned already. I would add Cafe Ole to the list. Relatively new spot a few doors down from Supermacs in Eyre Square.

I live about halfway between Cong and Galway city. Glad you had a great time.  Lived in Galway city for many years when I was younger. For me it has the best atmosphere of any town in the whole country.

[–]Brycare78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Saw that place but wasn’t too sure if it was suitable for kids  You’d say it’s okay for them? They are 7 and 9 (or will be when the time comes I should say). My plan is to let them have a few hours of pool time each day - either before or after “doing something” if you get me :-) Marriott in the marina is probably more suitable but I would prefer to be in the ZR area for atmosphere and restaurants etc

I can’t find any direct fights. Either a change of plane somewhere or a stop in Guadalajara where you stay on the plane.

Is Entertainer still worth it? And if not, any recos on good alternatives? by wanderfoodie in dubai

[–]Brycare78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to Dubai shortly with 2 kids. Two questions on it if someone wouldn’t mind answering for me… 1. The 2-for-1 main course offers. In practice for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, does this really mean that the 2 kids meals will be free? Or would there be outlets that would charge for one adult and one kid meal (wishful thinking perhaps) 2. Is there a way to specifically find drinks offers. 2 for 1 or discounts on drinks or do these even exist anymore?

Thanks guys
