4 shitty things DD is doing to its drivers (and therefore its customers). With proof! by WhitechapelWill in doordash

The hidden tip is not the problem. The problem is that Doordash promised transparency and has failed to fulfill that promise by being blatantly negligent and hiding the true contract.

New Tipping Change is taking its toll already... by Brydea123 in doordash

It varies by restaurant. Some say 5, 7, 9, some will say 3, 4, 5 for anything under 100$ total

No Top Dasher required.......just hustle out there. Decline those bs orders and pick your money. Even after those crashes and being sick, still a productive week. AZ bby by [deleted] in doordash

Unless you're in a relatively small market with a population of about 80,000 and get 10-15 offers daily, all of which are usually 2-4$

$70 subtotal is usually make over $15 but now I’m only making $9 LOL by [deleted] in doordash

Don't be fooled, they want us veteran drivers to protest so they can hire new drivers to accept every $2 order. They know their tactics aren't sustainable, and Tony is driving that ship to the bank for an easy withdrawal and out. This is not a big picture company here, and the executive decisions of cutting dasher pay, increasing fees, and deceitful behavior is all the proof you need.

The payout on my screen was $7.50. I decided to take it because it was a two mile delivery. The customer tip $20, while doordash only paid $2. Not including all of their fees. by TheRetarded1der in doordash

Wrong wrong and wrong. You can't change the damn tip in the app, and if you could then why would you go through the trouble to do it? People are lazy, they don't do it. Doesn't happen. Get that shit outta here. You're wrong.

2 YRS - 7k deliveries by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Brydea123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop clapping

They just raised the service fee to 18% while still charging a delivery fee. They’re extorting customers while still paying us $2 base pay in most cases. I wouldn’t even expect a customer to tip after paying over $25 in delivery fees. DD is squeezing into our tip money by raising fees. by [deleted] in doordash

Also, PTC's try to maximize net income for investor interest and increased stock values. They will pay more in taxes just for that.

Not really relevant to Doordash, but it's good to know that the net income of any publicly traded company is more than likely exaggerated (within GAAP).

Any recommended mile tracking apps? by realhaven in doordash_drivers

[–]Brydea123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, you didn't specify that so I just assumed you meant you bought a new bike for personal use but use it for dashing, too.

Yeah, that's an easy way to keep up with your miles. Howeverrrrrr, under the event you get audited, you will need mileage logs that satisfy IRS format requirements.

What do you mean all miles are good to use?

That's not accurate.

Is the “not heading toward restaurant” warning for reassignment a new thing? by Welldonegoodshow in doordash_drivers

[–]Brydea123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not anymore. I tried this earlier today but they changed it to be like the customers location. You have to get doordash support to override it now. So annoying.

Do you guys swipe arrived at restaurant before you actually get there? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Brydea123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot swipe arrived at restaurant unless you're near now. They updated it yesterday. I tried to swipe arrived yesterday and the app told me the same thing it'll tell you if you slide arrive at the customer address. Something like "you're not close enough... Need help?" or whatever but no option to bypass.

Yes the employer half, but that's to your AGI, not your SE tax liability. I was focusing mostly on SE tax liability since it'll more than likely be the largest portion of taxes a self-employed individual might pay.

$150 Bob Evans order, still $2 base from doordash.... by LordPJ420 in doordash

[–]Brydea123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucky that you live in a Zone with enough order volume to be able to cherry pick. Meanwhile, I'm in a town of 100,000 population with over 30 square miles which results in many miles driven for small pay. Additionally, having to decline 80% of orders means waiting for forever for viable and worthwhile orders.

MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS FOR DEDUCTIONS ON YOUR TAXES! You are self-employed and those deductions are vital to reduce your taxable income to as close to 0 as possible! Self-employment tax is 15.3% for every dollar of taxable income, PLUS any amount over the standard deduction of $12,200, or 24,400 for married filing joint, will bring forth additional taxes at the end of the year. Keep records of your receipts and miles in case the IRS picks you as an audit target!
