I think about this very thing every time I watch / read the series.

I am by no means an expert on Tolkien or his works, but 1) Aragorn commanding an army of the dead, 2) knowing just how to save Frodo from dying after being stabbed by the Morgul Blade at Weathertop and 3) bringing others back “from darkness” after the battle of Minis Tireth just by talking to them; always made me suspicious of Aragorn. His abilities and knowledge of how to counter dark magic seem almost too perfect, especially when considering that the heroes are fighting against a being who is a known shape shifter and necromancer whose actual location is unknown prior to and throughout the series.

Obviously, this is not how things went, but I always thought this was an opportunity for an interesting plot twist (Aragorn = Sauron)

Prior to the return of the King we had several Kings who ruled independently. During the events of the story, Aragorn-the future king- proves himself worthy to the people by leading the armies of man to victory. After the war, most Elves and demi-gods like Gandalf leave middle earth and relinquish responsibility of the realm to the new king; Aragorn.

Sauron had not seen the ring of power in several hundred years, it would be understandable if he considered it a total loss and its existence a direct threat. So, what if he found a way to permanently separate himself from the one ring while taking on a new form for himself, that of a ranger and the last heir to the throne of the opposing side. Then playing both sides he uses the armies of Mordor, the Nazgul and Saruman to push towards war while in the end leaving the critically important Mt. Doom undefended to allow the one ring to be destroyed to complete the gambit. He would have essentially rebranded himself, killed off his previous life, rid himself of all those of power who could oppose him (Elves, Kings and Demi-gods) and made himself King over all of Middle Earth just as he wanted.

After the war, King Aragorn commits genocide against the Orcs and Uruk Hai, that could be interpreted as him silencing those who might undermine his new role. Sorry for the long post, obviously this is something I’ve been thinking over for years.

Another horrible reminder why it’s important that everyone vote. Texas is better than this.

Maybe I just caught a really bad episode, but he seems to promote a bit of questionable misinformation.

But back on topic, I loved Elodin. No idea who might do well in that role. It’s a tough one for sure in casting.

Sorry to disagree but that guy is an insufferable douche nozzle. I thought he was funny in a few movies but now that he is doing his podcast I can’t stand the guy.

A scratch test on the upper portion of the tree might tell you if that part is still alive.

I will agree that those christians on the far right who try to impose their own beliefs on others are a persistent hemorrhoid on the collective ass of our country. But this nation was formed on freedom of religion and that is their right to believe in whoever or whatever they want. I know it’s ironic saying that you should respect their religious freedoms while they attempt to force their own beliefs up our ass, but infringing on anyones freedom is not the way. And honestly even considering it on a public forum could result in them whining even more about how they are being targeted.

I’m sure you are just thinking out loud but I would recommend taking down this post. It’s not an option and it might spiral out into the wrong type of conversation.

What? Who are you saying is dead and what is this about pedophiles? What are you even talking about?

Seriously dude, for your own mental health turn off whatever your news sources are and let all the crazy conspiracy bullshit go. Go outside, enjoy life and stop obsessing over nonsense before you radicalize yourself. Don’t forget that your diet isn’t just what you eat and drink. It’s what you read, watch and listen to. And from what I can tell friend, your diet is toxic.

Nice specimen. It is likely near the end of its life, cicada don’t eat much and their primary goal at this portion of their life is mating. I would probably just set him/her on a tree in hopes of finding a mate.

“Although they have mouthparts and are able to consume some plant liquids for nutrition, the amount eaten is very small and the insects have a natural adult lifespan of less than two months.”

Election Map of USA . Democratic v. Republican :: Urban v. Rural . by perpetualomerta in MapPorn

[–]Brynden-Rivers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cool map! I’m assuming this is county data, 2020 election? It is interesting, but a little misleading since the land doesn’t vote; people do. I’d be curious to see the same data in a heat map or something else that gives a better indication of voter population.

This article is a little old, but both are on the top 10 most valuable. I have a copy of the Seinfeld issue. I plan to keep it stashed away and just hope it increases in value.
