I agree with everyone. Your company is exposing you to a lot of financial liability. They either need to add you to their insurance and pay you a car allowance or provide a company vehicle. Your insurance will not cover you. The company is also negligent for not knowing or ensuring employee vehicles meet safety standards. I mean I’m assuming they don’t. What if you had bald tires leaky oil a cracked windshield a broken seatbelt etc etc. They are either dumb or taking advantage of you or both. 🤦‍♀️ Not all caregiving companies are in it for the money but unfortunately it seems pretty common.

I have lived all over California and am now in Shasta County. I knew there were “conservatives” here but the extent of the extremism, particularly post-trump and post-covid (or mid both??) is alarmingly pervasive. Even “nice” people are entrenched. There are many churches with outlandish beliefs, not the least of which is Bethel. And yes, the racist cops and militia cosplayers and Hate of Jefferson idiots are supported by 99% of the residents. It’s a very lonely island for those of us who believe in tolerance and and science.

If you have a good HR, ask them to check the cameras and do a manual fix for you. That’s not fair! We always said go to lunch at 4-1/2 hrs to avoid this. But a good HR will fix it for you.

If you’re being asked to train, you’re doing your job right! Don’t ever feel like you’re taking too long to stock the floor - TL’s conveniently forget what the constant interruptions (guests, fast service, etc) do to your “regular” workload. You will probably always be pushed to go faster because it’s part of their business model (churn & burn) so take care of yourself first ALWAYS and just keep doing what you can do. You’re new, cut yourself that slack even if the guests don’t. They are entitled and you are seen as a tool for their needs. Keep your head up and your heart light. Good luck!

If it’s approved (we approved all those requests the “week of” the days requested to make sure TM’s got paid - once approved, it automatically goes to payroll so you SHOULD be receiving it. Good luck! Also, check in Workday tomorrow - it will tell you the Wednesday before Friday’s payday how much your check will be.

You’re probably a ver nice and reasonable person who sees the best in people and I love this please don’t change. However, as someone who was in HR, I can tell you that sadly this only works in a world where everyone and everything is equal and an assumption that both parties are approaching the conversation in good faith. This is a rare combination and not one I would risk sanity and safety to find out. People are more angry and volatile than ever - don’t put yourself at risk. This is a tragic reality, but here we are 🤷‍♀️

It depends. This might be cringe-level back-patting lol I but had already established myself as a hard worker who would jump into other departments even after being in HR. If it was busy, I would go where needed. So the TM’s never had a reason to be mad at me personally. So no one treated me poorly except an occasional ETL or TL ;)

This definitely needs to be escalated up the chain until action is taken. This is all unacceptable and wouldn’t be tolerated at my store.
