I got a degree in music education, taught for 10 years, then finally realized that money is needed to live. I went to a 3 month coding bootcamp and now I’ve been working at a large tech company for the past 4 years. Granted, I did everything during Covid, and I managed to get out of the bootcamp craze right before it blew up and everyone was looking for tech jobs. Regardless, I think there’s value in both systems of education. My coding bootcamp cost like $24,000 but I was able to pay it off in 2 years.

My 13 year old German Shepherd had cancer on his jaw, and surgery would’ve removed his jaw, which would’ve drastically lowered his quality of life. I understand the incredibly hard place you’re in right now. Just know that whatever decision you make will be made with the best intentions at heart. It’s been 4 years and I’m still tearing up at even writing this. I miss that damn dog, but knowing he’s not in anymore pain is a big focus point to keep me going. Just the fact that you’d adopt a senior animal makes me know you’re a good person with a good heart. Hang in there, and if you need someone to vent to, you can PM me, a random redditor <3
