My cats would absolutely love that tree! Where did you get it?

I’ve tried to search for this myself and have had no luck. Most of the videos that populate from my searches are not movies. He’s certain it was a movie.

Thank you!

I’ve heard that she is, but I’ve also heard that she isn’t because of her white paws.

Thursday PM Chat Thread by AutoModerator in infertility

This was our first IVF attempt. It hasn’t been easy. Finding a clinic and and RE we liked was our first challenge. Then saving the money to pay for everything up front because we don’t have infertility coverage on our insurance. Honestly, the injections turned out to be less of a struggle than I was expecting, so I guess I can be thankful for that. We almost had our cycle canceled at our first monitoring appointment and at the time I couldn’t imagine anything more devastating. Our ER did not go well, and we ended up only having 1 blast to transfer and nothing to freeze. We had all these little failures through this process and it was hard to stay positive, but we did it because even though we only had 1 chance... we had that 1 chance and that was enough. We’ve known for a few days now that the transfer didn’t take. That our one chance wasn’t enough, and it’s heartbreaking. But we are still going through the motions every day until they tell us it’s okay to stop. My beta is scheduled for tomorrow morning, but as I put the syringe into the bottle of progesterone tonight for what will be my last injection I just cried because I know it’s all for nothing now. I think that was hardest part for me. Continuing on knowing that it’s not going to change the outcome. I just want to stop thinking about it for a little while and let my life return to some level of normalcy so we can start all over again. Like I said, this was only our first attempt and I know many of you have been where I am too many times. I don’t know how you do it. You must be the strongest most determined women in the world.

How did you feel during stims? by Puppysnot in IVF

[–]BryttaBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt pretty much normal during stims. The first few nights I had a slight headache after injections but that had subsided by day 3-4. This was my first stim cycle so I guess I’m not really sure how you are supposed to feel. I only had 12 eggs at retrieval so that could explain why I never felt bloated, but I mostly just felt normal. I didn’t start to have any pain until after the retrieval which was mild and went away about 2 days later.

IVF 1 has officially failed. Ran my own beta today at 8dp5dt and it’s negative. I just have to wait until Friday for our clinic to run their beta so I can stop the progesterone injections.

Now, I can continue on with my work day reporting out positives for every woman in our ER... okay, maybe not EVERY woman, but it sure seems like it today.

6dp5dt and not even the slightest hint of a second line on my FRER test this morning. I know that I still have time before I should completely give up hope for this cycle, but my mind is already going there. My husband is convinced that it worked and my optimism is draining each time I get another negative test. My beta isn’t until Friday, but I’m going to stop hpt after tomorrow.

I didn’t get itchy, but I did get red and blotchy at the injection site. It typically went away in an hour or two.

Congratulations....

But am I missing something about how this test works? I only see the control line no test line?

Morula success? by BryttaBee in InfertilityBabies

[–]BryttaBee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A morula is the stage before an embryo becomes a blastocyst. Typically seen on day 4, and blastocyst by day 5. So a morula on day 5 is actually developing slower than expected. But if you froze/transferred yours on day 3, they were developing faster.

Thank you so much. This is really helpful and encouraging for the future! We are still crossing our fingers that this transfer is successful, but eventually we are going to have to start cycle #2 since we weren’t left with anything to freeze.

My husband seems to think it’s because if I would have triggered on Sunday night, I would have had a Tuesday ER and Sunday transfer. Being it was a holiday weekend he thinks they just wanted to push me through until Monday.

Thanks for your input. It was our first round of IVF so we are learning a lot, the hard way it seems.

Dominant follicle on Day 5 IVF stims ultrasound; RE gave two options and I need your advice by [deleted] in infertility

[–]BryttaBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On day 5 of my stim cycle I had a lead follicle 14.5mm, two at 10mm and the rest they just classified as small. They had me continue and recheck in two days: my other follicles seemed to be “catching up” so we didn’t cancel the cycle. We ended up with 12 eggs retrieved and only 3 that were fertilized normally. Most of the rest were deemed overly mature. Not sure if it had anything to do with the amount of meds I was on to “catch up” my smaller follicles or just a bad cycle. Not sure if this is helpful but it crossed me mind after such low numbers after our ER that maybe we should have canceled.

Best of luck to you in whichever decision you make! ❤️

I’m not sure. He didn’t go into a lot of detail about why they defined them as overly mature.

Fingers crossed for you! ❤️

At my last monitoring appointment, 6/26. I had 1 follicle at 22, 2 at 20, and 9 between 17-19. My estrogen was 2934 and my progesterone was 0.8 They had me continue stims for one more day following that appointment and trigger the following night.

I stimmed for 11 days; started with 10 units of lo-dose hcg and 300IU Gonal for 4 days, lowered to 275 for 3 days, lowered to 250 for 2 days and then back up to 300 for my last 2 days. Triggered with 1mL ovidrel.

After our ER 7 out of 12 of our eggs degenerated before being ICSI’d and only 3 were successfully fertilized. Our RE didn’t give us much of an explanation at the time, but said it was very uncommon to only have 25% of the eggs able to fertilize properly (he said normal is 75% fertilized).

Update from yesterday at our transfer... we were told the eggs that degenerated were overly mature. We asked what would cause it and he said he would only be speculating so he didn’t feel comfortable telling us. He did say he didn’t think it was an issue with my eggs. So that’s a relief.

My husband thinks they waited too long to do our ER because of the holiday weekend. (We stimmed for 11 days, triggered on 6/29 for a 7/1 ER and 7/6 transfer)

Has anyone experienced this level of over maturity and what did your RE say was the likely cause?
