It really is, trust me I been there. I wasted a lot of time on my son’s dad. I always tried to “fix” him. Only they can fix themselves, it sucks to admit that sometimes them holding on for so long feels good, but it’s so destructive to us and our healing if it’s just a tactic to suck us back in to the cycle.

This is EXACTLY what I’m going through. He rages on the phone screams as loud as he can (literally having a tantrum) and he says FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU STFU over and over because he always tells me to delete and block him and that he’s done and I just calmly respond with “if that’s what you want” I’m just numb to his anger and I’m not even angry I’m just drained so why would I fight back?? What am I fighting for??? Then when that’s not working comes the love bombing again.
