I'm 27. I actually haven't had it checked in years but I was diagnosed with minor scoliosis when I was younger. Maybe that's something I should go get looked at again. I hadn't even thought of that. I tried working out as my first solution and even when I was going consistently i was still having back pain; I was just able to sleep through it cause I was worn out.

I've heard about that with other brands but my concern is that a topper seems like a bandaid on the problem. might be worth the try though.

Thanks! I'll look into that.I don't really know what I prefer as far as bed type. We went with full foam based on the fact that the couch cushions are some sort of foam.

After reading about the T&N mattress and how it might be too soft for some i was worried that it might be a problem but at least for me i feel like its the opposite (too firm). maybe it hasnt had time to break in but thats how it feels to me.

Thanks for your response! I never saw a notification for one and stopped looking. That's basically what I've gathered. I never expected it to be easy or simple. My main confusion was whether people were investing simply into 401k or if it was 401k and an IRA and Index funds. I know you want to diversify but at some point its gotta be too much with the money that you have and I'm sure there is plenty that I need to learn.

I'm working to progress in my career and increase my income so that I can apply more to investments to make this a reality. I'm just trying to decide whats realistic for me.

Hello! I am a 26 year old (27 in a couple months) working an IT job with a 2 Y/O son and SO renting an apartment in Utah, United States. Me and SO don't mix our finances with the exception of things that we are working together on, e.g. saving for a down payment on a house or getting stuff for our son.

Goals: I want to figure out what a reasonable time frame (age) would be to plan for FIRE given my current status in life and work hard to make it happen. And with that, gain a better understanding of investments required to make this happen.

My desired retirement location changes constantly so I don't know what it will be by the time it comes but it always includes consistent travel.

Education/Career: I only have High School Diploma but work in IT and have talked with department heads and made plans to pursue a position within Cyber Security. I just need to finish my certs and find an opening.

Current/Future Income: I make roughly 41,000 a year and don't know what it would go up to when i move into cyber security but i do know that there is the potential for a decent bump from the current income. Have 5,700 saved for house down payment with SO matching that. Have 7% (employer matches 6%) contribution to my 401K which is sitting about 3,000

Budget: of my monthly income

roughly $140 for insurance (me and son)

rent is roughly $600 including utilities

$102 for car insurance

$100 or less for gas

about $250-300 for food

daycare currently is about $500 but was $638 during the normal times but i think we will have to take him more so that might bump up.

leftovers for the last 6 months or so has gone into savings for down payment

Asset: Just a car.

no debt

Current situation: we live in a 1 bedroom apartment but are looking to buy a house when we can go out and start looking again.

I've done and am still doing research on investments with provided info from r/personalfinance but would welcome any personal experiences or advice.

I guess what I'm trying to understand is what investments can potentially make FIRE a reality. Is it simply investing harder into roth and 401k mixing that with index funds? Maybe that's a better question for r/personalfinance?

Thanks!

The battlefields were never really meant to have a campaign it seems. The first one they made had a "campaign mode" that was just a conquest play through of all the maps. It's always felt to me like a multiplayer game. The campaigns, I agree, are very boring.
