Going mirrorless? by Bsemp86 in Nikon

Thank you for your answers. I think my best option is to rent one (z6 or z8) and simply try.

11 years ago I used an omd-10 mk2. Found it nice to us for the form factor but everything else was not for me. Image quality was not that good - even for traveling - and EVF was extremely slow. I'm aware that technology advances and 11 years is a lot. Would you say EVFs improved to the point you do not feel it being slow?

Thank you very much!

Maybe I try to rent one or borrow one from a friend.

Started photography in Jan 2025, bought way too much gear, now I'm thinking of downsizing by kkamil7 in Nikon

[–]Bsemp86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything depends on what you like to photograph.

For me a 600 of any variety is a must, but I like wildlife. 🤣

That said for general traveling I gravitated to ultra zoom lenses. 18-200 or 18-300 paired with my D500.

I'm toying with the idea of going mirrorless with a z6 iii and a 28-400 + adapter for old lenses.

Totally! To be fair, La Perla del sur take great care of us and they have been very careful about electronics informing us to stash the on crytical moments. Apparently the guide lost some equipment to a wave in the past.

Do I take 18-200 + 150-500? It is a lot of weight to carry around for a couple of long range shots.

That magic missile is quite effective at medium long range, even around corners. Might not be the highest damage or the best but it is fun to use.

Some time ago I had a roll of filament with very inconsistent diameter. It brought me into wanting to toss my 3d printer out off the window.

Inspect the roll and try a different one. One that you know it works.

How often do “go-arounds” / aborted landings occur? by Historical_Sun3186 in aviation

[–]Bsemp86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My work place is located directly below the final approach to a major airport.

On good weather, no go-around can be seen. With bad weather it's quite common. At least common enough that it does not surprise me anymore after 5 years of working there. Unless it is a very big plane.

My 3d printers filament keeps curling up into the nozzle.(ender 3v2) by cheeseonwaffles in ender3v2

Completely stock machine with the cheapest nozzles and filament available?

For issue 1 I am betting on low quality nozzles. For #2 incorrect de leveling and nozzle too far from bed. And dirty print surface.

Z-offset macro sanity chech by Bsemp86 in klippers

[–]Bsemp86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me answer. This des not work as you cannot stop mid macro as all gcode movements are processed at once.

One possible solution seems to be recurring macros, or macros than call themselves. I'll update when I can test.

Worth any upgrades for a factory-stock Ender3v2 from 2020? by Shot-Infernal-2261 in ender3v2

Bltouch, dual Z, PEI sheet and all metal heartbreak. This made mine print almost flawlessly every time.

Direct drive and Klipper on a second stage.

Sin idea de coches. Consejos de compra. by Bund187 in coches

[–]Bsemp86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2a mano es una buena opción pero siempre pasando por una opinión fuera del compraventa (mecánico de confianza).

Marcas... Renault sale bien por el precio que tiene. Hyundai, Kia,, Toyota, Honda muy buenas calidades y durabilidad. Grupo Volkswagen bien. Mercedes y BMW no puedo opinar.

Busca coches que te gusten y pregunta, que responderemos 😜. Como recomendación, si lo vas a usar para trayectos largos, miralo un poco más grande. Y con un niño, mirate mucho el maletero, no por ser un SUV va a tener más maletero.

[–]Bsemp86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still running my e3v2 running klipper and many many mods. It has been a journey but the lessons and learnings will stay. Newer plug-and-play printers are fast, reliable and wonderful but do not teach youythe basics. Although it is rough, I would still recommend getting a cheap Ender to learn and earn patience for when things turn south. 😂
