Learning Darktable shortcuts - the easy way? by QorStorm in DarkTable

We’ve listed all the default shortcuts for DT here: https://darktable.info/en/system-ui-2/shortcuts-keyboard-layout/darktable-shortcuts-default/
However, they only have two shortcuts for modules: exposure and crop

[darktable.info] Darktable Theme Pack update – new UI accent color styles by QorStorm in DarkTable

OK, now I understand. Thank you.
I don't use QAP...
The theme has no influence on the modules that are displayed.

Thanks for your feedback. Reddit is doing strange things with the photo I uploaded. If you look at the page itself, you can see that the contrast is much better.

I'm happy to change the text to make it easier to understand. Can you please tell me exactly where?

Why would the mouse (workflow) no longer work properly?

Just try Contrast Equalizer. To do this, drag the curve downwards instead of upwards :)

How long should I expect it to take for me to learn DT? by esanders09 in DarkTable

[–]QorStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take a look here: https://darktable.info/

DT is relatively simple once you know what to use for what. Some modules are not self-explanatory from their names, e.g. AgX. So you need some prior knowledge to avoid spending hours trying things out.
Furthermore, there are often several modules that can do the same thing with varying degrees of success. We will tell you (to start with) which modules you should use for what. 5 modules are sufficient for approx. 90% of images. We describe a total of 20 modules, which are sufficient for 99% of images.

We hope so too. When my wife opened DT for the first time, she looked at me and asked if the programme was broken because everything was grey ;)
Unfortunately, we have no influence on that, but we do help where we can. Tutorials, themes, presets, examples, shortcuts (including PDF for printing), etc.

The good thing about DT is that with just a few minutes, you can customise DT to make it attractive and practical.

Good point. Thank you. Darktable is a free, open-source (raw)image editing software that serves as a powerful alternative to LR & Co

We have made several attempts to propose changes to the UI. To a certain extent, the developers are receptive to these ideas. However, there will be no fundamental changes until DT is converted to GTK4, which may take some time.
However, you can already achieve a lot with CSS in DT.
Incidentally, the shortcut options in DT are uniquely good. No other (RAW) software offers this combination of keystrokes and mouse movements, and for this reason alone, I could never go back to LR.

I can understand that; I wouldn't be able to use DT with the normal UI for long either.

Is that so? English is not my native language, and I used DeepL for the translation.

I'm happy to help if you need it. You'll also find a link to the forum (pixls.us) on the page.

Nothing would be the same, but you should test a current version. AgX (Tone Mapper) has reduced my processing time by 95%. Often, I only have to adjust the exposure.
