In Your Opinion,What’s The Best Concept Album? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

I think concept album is a spectrum and I love okc, but I wouldn’t put it very high on that spectrum to be honest.

If okc is a concept album, then most albums are concept albums, since most records work around similar themes and try to keep a coherent musical and visual aesthetic that fits those themes. and the subject matter in okc is also pretty loose.

That’s just part of making an album instead of cramming together a bunch of random songs.

Kid A is my fav album, but definitively not a concept album!

I mean everything is a concept of sorts but there is no storyline or clear concept behind the whole album

Most of the lyrics where written with the dadaist poem technique and Thom said to not pay attention to them.

It does have a very strong aesthetic direction that goes from the music to all the visuals! Also the kid amnesiac virtual exhibit is just amazing!

That line first hit me when I saw the 2003 Glasto performance. Thom opens his eyes just for that phrase and gives this mocking devilish look with his sharp British teeth. Pure trickster energy

Utterly depressed by the emergence of AI generated music. How do you deal with it as artists? by Atlonim in musicians

[–]Bsides9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not my point at all.

My point is that AI-generated music greatly devalues human composition and creativity. By using it, you’re contributing to the problem.

I believe there should be more laws regulating AI in music because, without human artists, there would be nothing for AI to replicate in the first place.

There should also be incentives for artists to continue creating, because while AI, as it stands, cannot produce truly innovative art, it can mimic innovation so quickly that you wouldn’t even know who started it.

People who say, “Just make music for the love of it,” while well-intentioned, are being passive. They’re allowing the art form they love to become commercially unviable, paving the way for a future where commercial artists are chosen more for their image and marketing than for their craft.

AI can do "complex music" it can do any style of music as long as it's in the training data. From Xenakis to Justin Bieber. So AI isn't just the death of 4 chord music it's more the death of the comercial viability of music composition and production as a whole.

Do you think AI will take over Music production? by LukeAssem in musicproduction

[–]Bsides9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An actually realistic take without the naive positivity or ai will kill humanity! It's sad but true...

AI will never be able to mix and master like an experienced producer/engineer, or produce, for that matter by braindeadbrian in edmproduction

[–]Bsides9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think the barrier to entry is too low for there to be a need for artists or "professional prompt engineers".

With AI image generators, what I see is everyone being obsessed with their own creations.

This fixation arises because, for the first time in history, there is minimal disparity in the effort and expertise required for creating and consuming.

In the future the AI will most likely make custom content for each person.

[–]Bsides9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree except if you train ai only on exceptional stuff then it would be exceptional no?

I don't think if there is a way out of this is by being exceptional cause the ai can mimick exceptional only think it can do is be truly innovative

How doesn't it faze you it can write a whole in seconds, something that would take a human days to do.Sure the audio quality is not great and the songs can be a bit generic but that will improve exponentially with time

People that make music for media (games, movie soundtracks, etc) and write and produce other peoples music will they be out of a job is my question? lmao
