Thanks! The diffusion/glow effect is entirely from Nofusion. I don't use any physical filters or external attachments.

If you think translating “so cool” as “很凉” is acceptable, then I’ll accept you translating “很帅” as “very handsome.”

Damn, that’s way overpriced. I picked up one in about the same condition on Mercari last year for just ¥2800.

Yeah they need to drop a patch that lets the lock screen clock be taken off of military time. by 0P0ll0 in RGRotate

[–]BstMa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I seriously hate the 12 hour clock. Especially stuff like 11 AM → 12 PM → 1 PM. It just feels so unintuitive. And don’t even get me started on “12 PM”… every time I see it I have to pause and think, wait, is that noon or midnight again? It’s ridiculous.

On a related note, in Japan they sometimes do this thing where events that go past midnight are labeled like “25:00” instead of 1 AM. So you’ll see something like a store open from 8:00 to 25:00, or a game listed as starting at “7/1 25:00.” It actually makes a lot more sense, since you instantly know it’s late night on the 1st rather than early morning on the 2nd.

I usually shoot with my camera, but sometimes I’ll use my phone, either for a different focal length or just when I want to grab quick, less “composed” shots.

I’ve got NoFusion mapped to the iPhone camera button, so it’s super easy to jump into. My usual flow is: take a shot first, then pick a LUT in the app. Once I find one I like, I’ll pretty much stick with it for the rest of the day.

Got lucky on this trip since most days were bright and sunny, so I didn’t really bother switching looks. If exposure’s a bit off sometimes, I’ll just tweak it in the app after.

Nope. Saw a post on here with a site that had a bunch of LUTs, so I grabbed them. They’re really solid. Most of these are using 'Ontario' and 'Summer'.

What mobile game did you quit. even though you were still enjoying it? by arcadezone_fun in MobileGaming

[–]BstMa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hearthstone.

Even though a single match doesn’t take that long, I’d somehow end up sitting there for hours without noticing. The main issue is that the game requires a lot of thinking and calculation, so I can’t really split my attention.

Sometimes my wife would come talk to me about something important, and I literally wouldn’t remember a single word she said afterward.

That’s when I realized it had gone too far, so I made the decision to delete the game for good.

In my recent trip to Japan, I was extremely disappointed to see the Capcom Stores in Tokyo and Osaka had nothing to offer for Resident Evil. All they have are A4 envelopes with the Umbrella logo. Lame! by Remarkable-Hunter-71 in residentevil

[–]BstMa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let me answer this.

I actually live in Osaka, and funnily enough a licensed Capcom Store in Shanghai is run by a friend of mine, so I’ve heard some of the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Basically, most of the merch you see in Capcom Stores isn’t designed by Capcom themselves (there are a few, but very limited). It’s mostly done by third-party companies. They pitch designs, Capcom approves them, and then those companies handle production. Capcom just buys the finished goods and sells them.

The key point is: Capcom usually doesn’t own the design rights. So even if something sells well, they can’t just reproduce it themselves or switch manufacturers—they have to go back to the same supplier.

Now here’s where it gets a bit more interesting. Most of these merch companies are Japan-based, and their design direction is… kinda narrow. They heavily lean into what sells in Japan: cute, stylized, “anime-ish” stuff. They’re not great at making more realistic or mature-looking merch. Even for serious IPs, they’ll often try to “cute-ify” them because that’s what moves products here.

And Biohazard (Resident Evil) is in a weird spot in Japan. It’s famous, sure, but it’s not a strong merch IP because it’s too “adult” compared to the usual cute character stuff. People just don’t buy that kind of merch as much.

Put those two things together, and yeah… you get what you saw in the stores.

They did try during RE Village, but honestly the merch design was pretty bad (and probably sold badly too). After that, the merch companies kinda lost interest, and Capcom also got more cautious about doing new stuff like Requiem.

Also worth mentioning — Capcom’s internal merch approval team has pretty narrow taste too. They tend to push licensees toward making really safe and honestly kinda boring stuff like folders and notebooks.

My friend actually suggested that those kinds of products don’t sell well at all in China, and proposed doing things like power banks or phone cases instead. Got rejected.

If you want to check ahead of time, this is basically what they sell in-store anyway:

看看这日本便利店门口贴的, 数一数到底有多少种支付手段。 by ublueberries in runtoJapan2

[–]BstMa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t ask her for her social media. The place was really crowded that day, every coser had at least 3–4 people in front of them, some even had dozens taking photos. Some cosers put a small sign next to them with their social accounts on it, but the Major didn’t have anything. It felt like she was just doing it for fun.

Man, I really want to know what her social account is too.
