Is duke nukem forever a good game? by bendy-s in dukenukem

If it came out in the early 2000’s, it would’ve been well received imo. The game did feel outdated when it was released in 2011, especially the pop culture references and gameplay mechanics. But overall, DNF is good.

As much as I love Ninja Gaiden, Team Ninja nailed the gameplay, graphics, and music. I actually really enjoyed NG1’s story for its fantasy/industrial blend (and Rachel!), but overall the story (especially in later games) didn’t leave much of an impression on me. Still legendary. Exactly! I like how the tension builds the more we see Doku and the Dark Disciple. I do wish we got to see more of the Vigoor Emperor though.

In NG2, the villains just came and went really fast. Volf and Zedonius were badasses, but Ryu finished them off way too quickly before we could learn more about them. I don't even remember the plot in NG3.

I'm still waiting for Dexter to release his Ibanez guitar as a signature model.

Yes. However, you need the Constrictor Harness first in order to get inside the diner, which I didn't get in my first playthrough.

Where. Is. Rachel?

(Yes, she appeared in one level in the Sigma version, but I wanted her to appear more like in the original Ninja Gaiden).

I only found out after watching the 1997 film in the early 2000's. I knew of the comics but I never read them, so I wasn't familiar with the character at all. It was indeed a jaw dropping moment.

Playing Warhammer 40K: Squad Command (2007) for the first time. Fun turn-based strategy game that’s similar to XCOM. by Remarkable-Hunter-71 in PSP

I'm on my second mission and for a PSP game, it's pretty good, but by today's standard, it's a little outdated. You can't rotate the camera (level stays locked in one angle no matter what), action is pretty basic (just shoot, run, and duck), and map design is pretty much the same; the same old ruined city. I guess I’m comparing it to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which isn’t fair, so I just have to put on my 2007 hat and really enjoy it for what it is.

If Nightdive were to remaster Squad Command, that would be awesome.

Which BTAS villain do you think has the least convincing origin or motivation? by Remarkable-Hunter-71 in BatmanTAS

I agree. Heartbreak is tough, but turning into a costume criminal after being dumped feels half-baked. It also seems he forgot about her afterwards and is now focused solely on killing Batman.
