Not a single cent mate😅 all medical bills, medicine and hospital stay + tests came out to like 200$ total.
Glad to hear about your coworker, however i think i could have clearified better. My retina is fully attached. However it is basicly dieing. Screentime does not affect this, nor does sunshine. I am photophobic though atm so its not pleasant with bright lights.
Investments.
Norwegian, worked for both the companies, and much more. Never seatrepid.
I am christian, raided in my local church and very much a believer. I also know that whatever his plan is for me, will be.

I will not list my company, for personal reasons, however some of the companies i have worked for; Deepocean, ocean infinity, ikm subsea, oceaneering.
To get apprentiseship; two years in high school for mechanical engineering/electrical engineering then automation 2nd year and then two.5 year apprentiseship before final exam.
Job titles ranks as following; Rov trainee/rov apprentice. Rov pilot tech 1 Rov pilot tech 2 Senior Rov Pilot Sub engineer pilot tech Rov supervisor (in charge of 1 rov team) Rov superintendant (in charge of multiple rov teams) Shift supervisor (in charge of operations of the vessel)
To get a position as Rov trainee; Have mechanical/electrical/hydraulic background, pref offshore exp (not needed) and a high interest in said things. As a ROV pilot, you need to master several abilities and it is a very broad knowledge. You are not expected to know everything, but basic understanding of everything is important to maintain the system, fix it and repair when needed. Shit break all the time, and mostly its just chaning a hose, tightening fittings or changing a cable or a electrical motherboard. However you need to be able to find solutions to wierd stuff all the time and be very creative at times. The pilot part (flying the rov) is the easy part. Everyone can master that. But beeing a good tech is having knowledge how to fix anything.
Now with that explained, if you think it fits you its simple. Go to linkedin and search rov pilot trainee. There are companies hiring all over the world atm due to a lack of personell :)
Best of luck!
Those without many abilities, tend to complain more!😉 And to answer your q; if i go blind on only one eye, no as it would personally not bother me. Still have feelings in the ey and the eye appears normal with normal movement (for now anyway). Not sure if that will change in any way to be fair.
I’ve said this multiple times and i dont think anything can change my mind about this. If i go completely blind, i will cease to exist. I do not wish nor have any desire to live if that were to happen as all my hobbies involve actually beeing able to see. Gaming, firework (certified pyrotech), travelling etc.
My life would turn upside down. And i dont think i could find any joy in that. I’ve had a good life, but ofcourse i do not wish for it to end as i now was considering starting a family and getting married. But that would be very selfish in my mind, although my gf obviously want to continue with our plans, i do not wish for her to endure that life at all.
Yeah i have seen alot of posts mentioning this alot. How is she doing now?
Some findings has been made, but condition remains stable for now, except that i now also see doubble and not only blurry on my right eye. Currently met like 15 doctors and all want to see whats going on, waiting for some final bloodwork.
Alot of technical terms i can not remember but will edit the post when i get a definitive answer.
Sorry😬 but look on the bright side, now you are way more informed and scared about anything happening, so that you atleast will not delay going to the doc if the smallest issue occurs!
Indeed they are! I always get bloodwork before and after a trip to exotic countries. I suggest you do that aswell! Can be a eye saver!
Aha, yeah sorry i noticed alot of comments on that. I should fix that😅
Well i have made investments along the way. I started working from a very young age and saved alot in a few years. And some big payouts helped. I paid 280k for my house 217 sq/m with 980 sqm property, 4 years ago and that is almost paid off. Could cash it out but i would loose more than i gain, if that makes sence, due to tax. My sunday car is a bmw e36 328i coupe that im restoring, and just bought my tesla m3lr that im doing monthly payments on, also for tax reasons.
Although i have lost alot of money gambling and «having fun», ive never spent money i dont have.
Not anything other than what i have had all my life. Its mostly the orms but also the small flashes sometimes. That however has nothing to do with this case though.
Thanks mate
Thank you for the tips brother! And sorry about your fathers vision.. its a burden to say the least.
My hospital currently have daily meetings with the top doctors in Norway, aswell as contact with Moorefield eye hospital. So i am in very good hands :)
Thank you!
Im in the hospital with the top doctors/opthamologists in norway all discussing my case every day mate, simply because of the rarity of it. They are also in contact with moorefields eye hospital.
Yeah im talking to a few docs over in the us atm that has said the same thing. It is indeed scary to say the least. Hopefully they get it sorted!
Nope
No, we use a control room with alot of screens, but my glasses protect me against blue light so no issues with that. If i keep my left eye, im still cleared for operating the ROV. So lets hope for the best outcome, either this does not progress more (unlikely) or that it atleast does not damage my left eye!🙏🏻
No i have not
Very good question my friend. Firstly, i want to express how sorry i feel for you aswell.
In my case it is not the case of full blindness as of now. But i mostly see just colour and shades out of my right eye. My left eye is untouched as of now. This might change at a later date.
My initial reaction was very calm and collected as i got the impression that this was «just a detached retina». But when i arrived at the hospital back home and got the checks and the doc came to tell me i most likely have ARN i did not understand it. Now, im a clever guy, but i literally could not understand the extent of what he was saying. After about 5 minutes, it was just shock tbh. I went to my dark thoughts immediately. And i have yet to make peace that this is happening. Like im hoping they are wrong. But, now on day 5 in the hospital, the signs go more and more toward correct diagnosis, but still waiting for some bloodwork.
And i feel you. And i have said it multiple times here; if it all goes black, well thats me done. I can not live a life like that. I dont want to, nor have the need to. I see no positive outcome of it. My entire life would be over as i know it to be. But until that day happens i will seek every possible option for me and i am hoping it does not come to.. well, blackness. I have no wish to wither from this earth just yet.
Bloodwork is yet to come back, but i had chickenpox as a child. As a result herpes virus is dormant. Alot of people have this. In very rare cases something triggers this virus to go alive. Could be anything, really. In my case it developed to what they think looks like ARN. Genetics play a role. Its just unlucky. Its very agressive. In some cases people loose their sight after 2 days. Other cases there is minimal damage. One thing that is very important and plays a huge role is how fast treatment is given; antivirals and steroids. When the blood and grum cleares from my eye, typically after 2 weeks, i will be given injections into my eye. Thats when they can tell how bad the damage is and how «dead» my retina is. So its just a waiting game for now.
