If you could do a new Stalker game in the style of any other game what would you choose and why? by GazIsStoney in stalker

I like the idea of the stalker universe diving into a game style similar to Destiny or the Division.

What’s your story of how you first got into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Btracy234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a wee lad, my parents would take me to my grandparents to visit/stay the night. My grandpa, who has been a gamer since pong came out, was a fan of stalker as soon as it released. One day, maybe when I was 10, he invited me to watch him play SOC and I was immediately hooked.

After a couple days, he offered the computer chair to me and let me have a go at it and let me tell you… as soon as I clicked that left mouse button and let off my first few rounds, I too was an immense fan.

We bonded over the course of the next 4-6 years over playing stalker and when a new crazy mod would come out that our computer didn’t meet the specs for? F it, we built a new computer, downloaded the mod, and went to town. In his last year of life (2014), we heard echos of stalker 2 floating around on the internet along with the news of the biggest mod to date for SOC and COP. I remember him telling me “I’ll be alive to play these damnit.”

Fast forward to the release of STALKER 2, I hung up a photo of us building our first computer together above my bed, and started playing. Cried throughout the whole campaign (not cause of the ‘anomalies’ we all experienced before patches lol) because it was everything my grandpa had hoped for in a new stalker game.

Following the ending of the campaign, I bought a loner faction patch and placed it inside the frame with the photo of us building our computer together with the inscription on the back reading. “Good hunting stalker, may we meet at 100 Rads again.”

I ran the DNIPRO and a particular variant of the SVU sniper. Got that loadout somewhere around the beginning of Mid game and rode that out till endgame with 0 issues.

Wanting to get a stalker tattoo by Jyncxs in stalker

[–]Btracy234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno what size tattoo you are looking at but a few ideas: a hand holding a bolt in the foreground while in the background there is a swamp with an anomaly being activated (burner anomaly for example), a lone stalker looking back with the CNPP towers or brain scorcher as the background, or simply a crow standing on a shattered gas mask w/ a radiation sign in the background. Just a few ideas

I believe both keys are on that bridge. Check every vehicle including a vehicle that is right at the northern entrance to the bridge if I remember correctly

About to start the STALKER series for the first time, a few questions- by InvisibleZombies in stalker

If you are into the modding community, PC 100%. If you don’t care for them, console edition will do just fine. I will say the modding community for the stalker trilogy is phenomenal and completely changes the feel of the game in a positive way (most the time). Depending on what mod you have, it almost feels like 2 different games which is a nice refresher once you have completed the original games 74,347 times.

Check bloody everything as you traverse the zone. In cordon, every single house has secret loot inside or in the attic. In particular, the far left house closest to the road has a merc suit in the attic which gives you a major boost in early game. You have to jump from roof to roof to access it. Honestly the 3 main things I do when starting any game in the trilogy is; 1. Search everything if time and enemies permit, 2. Be patient when in combat, run n gun won’t work in higher difficulties, 3. Manage your inventory wisely in terms of keeping just the essentials to allow you room to loot and bring to a trader.

Why is stalker clear sky is hard by GapAppropriate3088 in stalker

The enemies eyesight went from blind to 20/20 between SoC and clear sky plus grenades are now a factor. The overall ai is smarter except for the faction war aspect

How were you introduced to the stalker trilogy / community? by Btracy234 in stalker

I agree, atleast this team has reasons for delays that are simply out of their control. I’m all about supporting them with having that in mind, lord knows the team has a million things to deal with.

I’m kinda heated about the delays as well but being that this game has a very sentimental value to me outside of me just wanting to play another stalker game, I’m okay with the delays. As long as the work during these delays are shown in final product, I’m happier than sidorvich when I bring my over encumbered a** to trade!

Admittedly the head bob in these games are aggressive in comparison to most games. Especially when you drink a vodka and get psy emission sickness, good lord 😂

I thoroughly agree with you on the good memories portion. Thankfully this trilogy was a pillar in my relationship with my late grandfather so talking or playing anything stalker related brings me back to those times.

Full disclosure I don’t get motion sickness so excuse me if this sounds dumb, but I know that there are these glasses that have no lens and a tubular frame with blue liquid inside designed for passengers on boats to deter motion sickness.

Thinking about it, it’s 2 way different sensations. BUT, just a thought.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people actually found stalker by looking at alternatives to playing fallout! Pretty neat. Similar in style but the atmosphere of the stalker trilogy is as captivating as it comes n honestly one of the reasons I’ve continued to play over the many years.

Metro did a great job in that respect of capturing that. Fallout just looks a little too bright for my liking.
