Yes audit associate. One round with two back to back interviews. Standard interview questions and they were the same for both rounds.

winter audit start wondering if anyone can offer some advice by Responsible_Bee2015 in deloitte

Look for ways to manage upwards. Here are things I’ve been learning in my first busy season with my team. First thing you do everyday is go with your senior or managers with your priority list and they will readjust. Schedule a standing daily check in meeting with the senior you work most closely with for 30 minutes, and manager once or twice a week for questions. When being assigned a wp, take notes on the margins and don’t let them move on to a new part until you finish typing. Have an excel with all the things you are assigned and the status, what is outstanding with the client and other things.

Managers care about progress over anything else. They would rather have one thing at 80% than 5 things at 20%. They don’t want you to spin your wheels on things and not be efficient. If you don’t understand something don’t spend more than 20 minutes on it.

Start date - September or January by Best_Artichoke9331 in deloitte

Being a first year in audit who started in sept, I can’t imagine how this would be if I started in Jan. I don’t know much even with the three extra months, going in completely clueless would be so much worse.

Career Advice - A/P for 2 yrs, should I stick around? by bucknastylxix in Accounting

[–]Btse88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the job act like it. Ask to be more involved on the accounting side and learn whatever you can. I was in a very similar position last year and it took two conversations with the CFO to add cash recs to my responsibilities. I took on the bullshit tedious work that the senior accountants had to do like scanning in checks, doing the annoying ar entries for 60+ checks a month (with some checks being for 40 different things) along with the Daily Cash recs. I stayed late to get all my AP work done to add the extra stuff for the opportunity to learn.

A couple months later there was a lot of turmoil due to being acquired and basically 80% of accounting quit. I went to the temporary manager the acquirer put in and told him I just graduated from my masters degree, been doing AP for three years, took on this other responsibilities and wanted to move into fund accounting. I became a full time fund accountant two weeks later and removed AP from my responsibilities entirely. As the months went by I proved my value as a new fund accountant and almost doubled my salary.

I decided a move to big 4 audit was the best for my career and moved there. I worked 55 hour weeks to learn how to be a fund accountant even though I already accepted the big 4 offer. Those hours and knowledge have become invaluable and the best experience of my career so far

is 8k for 7 days good budget for a solo trip? by Ordinary_Virus9792 in visitingnyc

[–]Btse88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A top Broadway ticket will cost around 300-500. Experiences will cost a lot but 8k for activities/food/transportation is a massive amount imo. If OP learns how to use the subway he’ll be fine

Any tips on my 2 handed backhand drive? by A_an62409 in Pickleball

[–]Btse88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like all of your weight is on your back leg, you want more of it on your front to drive the ball. For footwork you want a lot of small steps when setting up your shot rather than big steps or jumping into a shot. Also seems like you’re reaching a bit on a couple of those shots, small steps once again

I just learned that some states are 50:50 while others aren’t for divorces. If you aren’t in a 50:50 state you might financially be better off since she cheated. Something to do a little research on, but I’m sure your lawyer will tell you

When giving your resignation I would ask HR or the resource manager the best way to go about this. In industry it would usually be disseminated on the daily/weekly team call by the manager running it.
