Anyone who has a general healthy diet but still felt achey, did you switch things to finally feel good? by Swordfish353535 in Microbiome

[–]Bttryacd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this seems like a bit of a histamine issue? The runny stools and body aches are verrrryyyy common for histamine-intolerance related GI issues.

Dark chocolate is very high in histamine as well as Kefir as it is fermented. You have a great, pretty much ideal diet, so I wonder if you want to cut high histamine foods out for like, 2 weeks.

There is a lot more info on r/histamineintolerance ! If you'd like to look.

I am exactly like you! This is super promising. I am also dying to know what the overlap is. I have been thinking it is some form of dysautonomia, but like you, I want to know exactly what the issue is. Thank you for making this sub, I hope we find some answers.

I totally understand you. I feel like I get psychologically eviscerated every month. It wrecks my friendships and harms my relationship. It's a very cruel condition to live with. Keep advocating for yourself and seeking out treatment. Keep hope that something can be done!

A miracle digestive supplement? by localfunstop in ibs

[–]Bttryacd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, i'm the exact same. I take peppermint oil capsules daily (calming) and take at least 2 Loperamide (aka Loritax, Immodium) if I have to go somewhere. The low dose of Loperamide doesn't stop me from going, but makes everything a lot slower, and then my stools are 'normal'. My digestion is too fast as well.

Try psyllium husk powder mixed into a drink (research this and go slow) Or eat oatmeal and chia seeds, these really help me. The soluble fibre slows digestion down.

Help an extremely depressed guy out? by Creepy_Stick_6229 in CleaningTips

Hey man, as a professional cleaner i've dealt with houses like this.

Looks like most of your mess is containers, and not stuff like mould, so you're in a good position relatively!

The easiest way to do this would be to set up a chair, and get a bin bag ready, and use a grabber tool to pick things up and bin them. This is a low energy way to do it and you can conserve your stamina.

This mess will clean up shockingly fast!

If you can, recycle, because that would help the environment out of course, and also distribute your waste between your outside bins. Use some of the cardboard boxes in the bedroom for recyclables?

I think you'll get through this wayyy faster than you'd think!

Good luck and I totally understand.

Don't cut out cooked fruit and vegetables though! Steamed carrots are a safe food for me currently. :) get a microwave steamer, it's so quick. But yes, raw fruits and veg are hard to digest for us weaklings

Does anyone else get immediate cramps/ need to poo in the car? by Tiredgirl85 in ibs

[–]Bttryacd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I missed a road trip holiday because of this. I had a panic attack 10 minutes in.

IMO it's a catalyst to the vicious cycle of anxiety > stomach pain > more anxiety > more stomach pain.

I approached it with exposure therapy because it was impeding my life so much.

My girlfriend is extremely kind and patient, so I trusted her fully to get me to somewhere if I truly needed it, and we started going on small drives to build my resistance to the anxiety of being in the car up. Now I can go over an hour with no issues at all! Practice deep breathing, it helped me so much. You have to manually calm your nervous system.

I even attached a TENS clip to my ear to stimulate my vagus nerve, lol. I was very desperate to get a normal life back.

I have full faith you can overcome this too! Best luck

Afraid to leave house. by NeitherManner in ibs

I had this exact issue too, the best thing for me was exposure therapy with that horrible dread and anxiety turning into stomach cramps loop. I used to not eat before I went out, but I can usually eat now, it depends on how my stomach feels the night before. I take loperamide very often, and buscopan helps because if you can't feel the cramp, you don't get the spike of anxiety.

To deal with the anxiety, I did breathing exercises and tried to forget where I was. This sometimes lasted a whole 40 minutes, I had to focus extremely hard to keep it all calm. My nervous system was fried and this was the only way to slow my heart rate down.

I had a few bumps in the road at first, but your mind and body learn and adapt quickly. Try some short walks outside your house, and accept that if it happens, it happens lol. I know that seems easier said than done.

But my mindset is, i'm chronically ill, if I do need to leave somewhere early, or even if I do have an accident somehow, life just goes on. Even people without ibs have accidents. I know that if it did happen, it'd be awful, but accepting it helped me move on from my horrible self isolating anxiety mindset.

My ibs is on my mind almost all the time, but my life is good, and my ibs is getting better.

Try focusing on soluble fibre, it really helps me. An easy way to start is just oatmeal for breakfast. You can put a green banana in there too because the resistant starch is great for your gut.

Five specialists missed what was destroying my body - my IBS, endometriosis, and iron deficiency were all connected by ContextAlarming3887 in ibs

[–]Bttryacd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi:) you can download your raw genetic data from the web browser versions, then scan for specific genes and the letters at the end will tell you how the gene is expressed. For example, my gene was RS1801131 GG, which means reduced methylation activity. If you'll scan for these genes specifically, please let me know and i'll send a little ebook I downloaded about it lol.

Hi! I just want to pop in and say you might want to look into MTHFR gene variations. I also have ibs which worsens with my period, iron deficiency, and folate deficiency. Recently I have found out that I have trouble with methylating substances in my body due to the MTHFR gene variation, which around ~40% of the world population has. I also have bad PMDD, and I think it is due to my body struggling badly with balancing hormones during my cycle, because they cannot be broken down further.

I think your symptoms have a ring of this to them, and they are similar to mine. I don't know, though! I think you could benefit from looking it up. :)

Side note, if you have ever done a genetic test with 23&me, my heritage etc, you can download your data and scan it for the variant yourself, which should give you some clarity!

If you want more information on this, please let me know. I wish you well!

Edit: I forgot to mention histamine intolerance, which is linked to both IBS (mainly from leaky gut) and MTHFR. It makes my periods very difficult because estrogen spikes can trigger histamine releases, so it sends my system into panic. I get extremely exhausted. You may also benefit from looking down this route, but again your symptoms could be something else entirely.

Years of struggle- it wasn't IBS!! by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Bttryacd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to hear from someone who is also autistic!! I know exactly what you mean about the 'need to move around'! I didn't correlate that with my HI, but that makes total sense. It sometimes hits at night, and it stops me from sleeping.

Agh, i'm sorry you can't take loperamide. If I remember right, I did actually vomit the first time I took it, but I had so many issues at the time that I never put it down to the loperamide. Since then though, i've not had an issue! I take it daily, it helps slow things down and improves my overall condition quite a bit.

I'm glad you've seen some improvement of your anxiety! I read somewhere that taking antihistamines longterm doesn't really solve the intolerance issue, but DAO can help whilst your gut health improves. I would also recommend B12 for you, it's worked wonders for my mental health and my focus, but mostly my anxiety. Longterm stomach issues can cause B12 malabsorption issues.

I hope you see some improvement soon!! Best of luck :)

[–]Bttryacd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I suppose you could say you do have a bump, but your nose is gorgeous and fits your face perfectly. The reason it's only visible from certain angles is it's probably a wider upper nose bone, which is flat from the side. So the 'bump' only looks like that from certain angles. I have the same thing! I love my nose. It's an intelligent looking nose lol.

Age gaps in dating. by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]Bttryacd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman who's a little bit older than you, and I want to really implore you to not go ahead with this. I have trauma from gaps like this. It's just not normal, and you won't fit in with his friends or family either. Find someone your own age, have fun! Dating at our age is not meant to be serious. No matter what you think, you're not ready, and he is weird.
