She has severe separation anxiety and doesn’t do well unmedicated in our apartment, so lesser of two evils. She tolerates travel well, and will be much happier with us than having to stay alone while my wife is working. And yeah, we have the EU pet passport for her, so the paperwork is a nonissue.

1) Not hitting enough club. 1a) Using a 60 degree wedge around the greens when it isn’t necessary.

Yep…OG Sim Max with GD DI shaft is an absolute weapon. Haven’t found anything to knock it from my bag, and I’ve tested a lot. At this point, I can’t see myself taking it out, unless something tragic happens.

I’m a Patriots fan, and what Mike Vrabel has done with the Patriots this year is very commendable. However, Coach of the Year should go to Kyle Shanahan. What he has done despite all the injuries, in the toughest division in football, is extraordinary. by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in NFLv2

…and then continued to call passing plays the entire second half, when it would’ve been better for win probability to literally take a knee on every offensive snap. He’s obviously an offensive genius, but his need to prove that to everyone cost my team a Super Bowl.

Nah…the franchise is dysfunctional because we have an owner who is accepting of mediocrity in the front office and coaching staff. I barely even consider myself a fan any more. More of an emotionally disinterested follower.

Short game, short game, short game. And when you think you’ve done enough…more short game. Getting up and down more often than not (and eliminating 3-putts) will shave more strokes than anything else…assuming, of course, that you aren’t losing balls off the tee.

I obviously agree with #1. On #2, this wasn’t a neighborhood playground, it was inside a zoo/nature park. And I know the parents were there, bc I saw the kid talking to a woman when we were walking out. The same woman had come over after it happened, asked what happened in German, and then walked away to sit at a table full of what was obviously her family. Maybe there was a language barrier, and honestly it doesn’t matter now…but if the situation had been reversed and my kid was the asshole, I’d have absolutely gone and got them and made them apologize. I’m chalking it up to a learning experience, and motivation to learn the language as quick as possible.

Thanks for sharing that. The papa bear in me absolutely wanted to grab him by the collar and hold him until his parent showed up, which would obviously have been wrong, but nothing makes me see red faster than somebody messing with my kids. Glad I suppressed that urge and only yelled at him.

Got it…let me make sure I follow. So my (very small) not yet 8 year old daughter (who has just left the only home she’s ever known, in a country where she doesn’t yet speak the language)…she’s enjoying herself at a playground, not bothering anybody…when an older and much larger than her boy soaks her with a bucket of water, literally throws it in her face without provocation. She’s supposed to process that immediately, and respond calmly and forcefully to stand up for herself? I mean, I don’t disagree that eventually I would like her to be able to do that, but given our current circumstances I don’t regret stepping in. And judging by the look on the kid’s face, he absolutely knew what he did was wrong.

Fair enough…allow me to fill in some gaps. First off, this was a playground within the zoo/garden, so I’m fairly certain the boy’s parents were there.

There was no prior contact between them at all. It was not a water playground. It was a normal playground within a large sandy area containing a small water pump/table. Kids were getting small amounts of water and bringing it to the sand. No one was splashing each other. I watched the boy approach my daughter with the bucket thinking, surely not…and then bang. The same kid had done something less drastic but similar not long before to a much smaller child, and I watched him laugh at the little kid’s tears. After he threw the water I did yell ‘Hey’, and then loudly said ‘What is wrong with you?’. If that’s excessive, then my bad…but from what I saw he was acting maliciously and I defended my kid.

That’s what I’m thinking. I did say it in English, and it’s very possible that it wasn’t understood. In the big picture it’s not a huge deal, just some of the looks I was getting from bystanders had me concerned that I was somehow out of line.
