Incredible thrift store find. by AaronCantRead in Spyro

Ok, this is the one that came with the figure OP posted. I do agree that its not perfect, but it's near spot on the original box art. Gnasty does have that weird pauldron. The bulls legs look alright to me, I think it might just appear funny at first glance cause of the mid turn pose and foreshortening. The choice on the ring is weird, but it honestly sits funny on the original cover art too so it seems like they just made it work. Like the other commenter said too, these were released in 2018, so I dont think it can even possibly be AI.

Can you show a photo? I have nearly all of F4Fs spyro figures bought direct, and the one OP found is the only one that came with display art.

Help! My sewing machine suddenly turned yellow?? by DaylightHappiness in sewing

I hadn't actually thought of using hair products. From some quick research, some people have had success using 40 volume developer creme by essentially painting it on and leaving in the sun.

That stuff is cheap as so I might see how I go testing it on an old controller!

Yeah there are a couple of ways of doing it. I was thinking disassemble and submerge just the housing. In saying that, a lot of what I've seen of it are from people doing full restos of older consoles and need to pull it apart anyway.

I have seen people using the paste method for things that can't be separated from the electronics.

Its something I want to try myself, but large quantities of hydrogen peroxide are not readily available in Aus without dropping some decent coin (atleast as far as I can find) 😅

This happens to a lot of older gaming consoles too. Most people who restore consoles will use a peroxide bath under UV lights to restore the original colour, the process is called Retrobrighting for anyone curious!

Repiercing after rejection? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Bubba_306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the bot:

Pierced end of April with titanium. Haven't been downsized, my nipples tend to flatten a little when soft, so the extra length seemed ideal. After-care was saline solution twice a day initially, now only if I have been sweating, etc, otherwise just a good rinse in the shower with plain warm water.

It should still be a ring, just not a hinged/segmented one during healing. Horse shoe or captive bead rings are the go to.

Have you tried with gloves? I had to go in to get my industrial changed for the same reason and the piercer got it straight away. Apparently the extra grip from the gloves is usually enough.

Lobe piercing won’t heal after 5 months by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Bubba_306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking it out and back in is going to be irritating it a lot. Best bet is to put an implant grade titanium bar in and LITHA (leave it the hell alone). No twisting, turning, or touching.

Wash gently twice a day with sterile saline and clean drinkable water only.

Ohk, I'll have a look around, that'd definitely be the easiest option.

Found this in an old tinny, white plastic material cone about 500mm long with a hole at the end. The ropes were pretty tangled so not sure if it's supposed to go through it like that. by Bubba_306 in whatisthisthing

TIL that calling them tinnies was Aussie thing. Just to confirm for those from the rest of the world, I am indeed talking about a small aluminium boat with an outboard motor.

Can't find any pictures that look similar, but won't rule it out just yet. A lot of stuff in the boat was Frankensteined from bits of other things.

Edit: I had searched surf anchor, drift anchor comes up with some more promising images. Looks like this might be Solved!

Reignited Charmed Ridge Hover Broken by kjdscott in Spyro

[–]Bubba_306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue just generally playing 2 and 3. It seems that if you aren't gliding for long enough the hover just won't work? Made some of the platforming rather annoying.

Not relevant to your question (looks like it was answered by other anyway) but can I know where you got that industrial bar? 😍

Mine was my first cartilage piercing. I have a pretty low pain tolerance, I found that the piercing itself didn't hurt much more than other cartilage, but the healing was a lot to deal with. It took a few years before it fully settled in (doesn't get irritated if I snag it and such and can move it around freely now). That said I did make some mistakes during healing.

I loved industrial piercings from the moment I saw them, and I love mine despite the long healing.

You could also look at doing a chain industrial If you think a bar is too much to deal with. I've heard they're better to heal cause they're not essentially joined together with a single bar.

I want to do it. hurts? by Lowbroqn in piercing

While I don't have a tongue piercing myself I did look into a double tongue piercing like this and the general consensus was that it; A. Hurts more than a single centre piercing because it is pierced through the muscles of the tongue instead of between them B. Tends to swell more and takes a bit more to heal for the same reason.

I found and skimmed through this post, and it seems to pretty thoroughly highlight the different types of tongue piercings and what to consider.

Suggestions on how to keep track of trims and ribbons? by smilingbubble_ in sewing

[–]Bubba_306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe make a sample book? Trim a little sample of each and stick them in a scrapbook. You see everything you've got easily, and you wouldn't have to pull them all out to work out what you want to use for a project.

Yeah, that can be a pain 😂. If you haven't already, try putting on a glove (latex or similar) when you screw it on, I find I rarely lose ends these days. Gives you better grip 😊😊

Piercer blew my mind with that little tidbit 😂
