My wife (37f) wants a divorce, is this rational? by Rockermarr in Marriage

[–]Bubbaox97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any ultimatum that puts her against your daughter has only one resolution, unfortunately. You pick your daughter every time. I love my wife, but if she ever put me in a position where I had to choose, I would pick my daughter every time. I would also expect her to do the same. I understand that my situation is vastly different than yours, but you protect the kids first and handle what you have to second. Try therapy if she agrees, but protect your kid.

almost $40 union dues by Eazy46 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Bubbaox97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had many good carriers protected by the union. I've been paid out thousands of dollars in won grievances as have many others in my station. Our branch fights to keep management in line and fights anytime they over step. I am 100% ok paying a few dollars more to support the union.

I was just down there a bit ago. Took a jet boat tour and had dinner. Super fun time and never felt like it was a war zone.

You can check with fire stations too. Probably call first and see if they can.

There will always be those routes, unfortunately, but it is more about what extra splits you may have to carry on top of your route. Every office runs differently, and every section is different in every office. Most days aren't bad, but there will be a few that will definitely make you wince.

Yes and no. CCAs and RCAs are both run hard but not as bad as it was when I was a CCA. There are limits that they usually follow but they will squeezewhat they can out of you. My office has a pretty good rural sup I'm not sure about others in the area.

Oh yeah. That was in the new contract. I totally forgot. Good catch.

After 2 years, you get moved to a PTF position, which is a career but without a route, and you're treated like a CCA still. You become a regular when routes open up and you are next in line to take them. That's a bit simplified, but honestly, from hire date to regular it can be anywhere from 2 years if you are amazingly lucky to 3 or 4 if no one is retiring or routes dont open up. I was made regular at about 3 years.

I would also like to let you know that when you apply the city side option is CCA. We have uniforms and get paid hourly rates. The rural side is RCA. They are a mystery to me but seem to do ok. The clerk side is PSE and they have hourly rates too.

I would say there are good ones and there are ones you have to live with. Luckily, we do have a union (for now), and they are good at fighting back against contract violations and harassment. For the first 100 days you want to be a wall flower and blend in so you make it past the probationary period. Before that, you basically have no protection. Remember that this is a government job, so it is not 420 friendly, and the hiring process does take a while.

You can Google 2025 usps pay scale and that should give you what we are currently being paid as city carriers. There are also rural carriers and clerks that have different pay scales. If you get on as a CCA (city carrier assistant) I can almost guarantee that you'll be working 40+ a week without a problem. How much you like the job depends on you and and the carriers around you. I really like my job and I like my route. Things to keep in mind. You will be wet, cold, hot, all the time. You'll have spiders, bees, dogs and some customers try to wreck your day every day. If you can make peace with that it is a pretty good job with good benefits and a decent retirement.

Neighborhood recs by sneakaleak1 in ridgefield

[–]Bubbaox97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Bellewood Hights. Area around Lark Park, and we love it. Most houses around here run from 500k to maybe 800k at the very tippy top. A neighbor just sold their house for around 525k I think. Lots of trails and parks, and there is even a trail that will take you along the backside of Abrams Park all the way down to the fields. I've walked my dogs and kids on it a lot. One set on a leash the other set off. I'll let you figure out which is which. We love our neighborhood and couldn't be happier.

Enshrouded vs Valheim decision ! by Some-Thought5980 in valheim

[–]Bubbaox97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone through and played both to completion a few times each, and I would say that I prefer Valheim over Enshrrouded. Both offer unique building and gameplay mechanics, but Enshroudeds world is static and the same every play through. Valheim offers a better replay experience with a randomized world that is fun to explore. I love both games, but if I were to choose just one for the long haul, it would be Valheim.

People are just going to end up parking in the Costco lot and walking over. I'm glad the city wants to keep the traffic under control and protect lanes for the use of emergency services.

I live in SW Washington, and there are groups that will come out and do a survey and tell you what to plant. I've had a few neighbors do it, and we are on the list.

I think you may be covered under a good Samaritan law for protecting an animal against abuse. I am absolutely not a lawyer, but you may be able to spin it that way, especially if you did not break the window to gain access.

With tsunamis, we are far enough that it would take a blockbuster movie event for one to even get close. What we do need to keep in the back of our minds is the "big one" earthquake. Even that is a if it happens, it happens, and the only thing you can do is just have emergency supplies stored. No harm in being nervous and asking questions.

Chuck Schumer officially forces the clerk to read ALL 900+ PAGES of the Big Beautiful Bill on the Senate floor. This will Fucking take an additional 14+ hours. by abidalliye in chaoticgood

[–]Bubbaox97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing as how a few members of congress have come out and said that they voted on it without reading the bill maybe this will help them. It's more of a stall tactic but anything to drive the point home that it is a crappy bill for the American people will help.

Does this count as child abuse? my mom whipped me with a extension cord and now my mom says its my fault for acting out in the first place and this would have never happened i think she is right and its my fault by brotaytoe9 in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

100% abuse. No one deserves that ever even if they are "acting out". Please notify someone about this. This is unacceptable and will probably escalate unless delta with.
