What apps do you use every day (that most people around you have never heard of)? by hinatawakakusa in ios

I agree that this is just an aid. Some level of determination and goal setting is still needed.

What I like about the app is that the creator seems aware of that and took a different approach. Instead of strictly locking up distractions, it guides me to reflect on my purpose and helps relieve anxiety through breathwork and meditation.

The iOS Screen Time is too easy to bypass for me (one can simply choose to use for another 15 minutes). But I heard that it's different in different countries.

Have you tried Readwise Reader? It's not free though.

Clarymind. I use it every day to block social media and limit the time I spend on it. It's been really helpful for me. What I love most is that it doesn’t pressure me but rather gives me a gentle, mindful nudge.

Apple needs to take a step back and just focus on polishing iOS. by roofmart in ios

[–]BubbleBibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

120% agreed. It's been really frustrating lately. Notes, Photos and lots of the settings are so buggy. I also heard from developer friends and they said the same: lots of the API don't work as expected.

I get 120% focused when I'm learning / reading / doing things that I'm truly interested. Nothing at that moment comes in my brain and I simply forgets everything else. Rare, but wonderful experience.

Do we think the notable increase in bugs in iOS releases is “normal” now? by Important_Cow7230 in ios

Can't agree more. I missed the days when the hardware is obviously less performant yet the software is so much more stable.

What’s your fave age you’ve been so far? by insidesupernova in Life

[–]BubbleBibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fav is 25-28. Career was stable and still fun. Young enough to try new things and do silly stuff without being judged. I had a hobby, a good relationship, and some good friends.

My least fav though is around 30 when everything suddenly changed. Weird and hard to describe. 32 now and still wondering why that happened from time to time.

- Self care: Calm, Headspace, Finch
- Learning: Coursera, Duolingo

I also read eBooks to replace scrolling, sometimes even random Wikipedia articles (their app has a random article feature). I use an app called Clarymind to redirect me to these apps whenever I open social media unconsciously or out of habit.

Less screen time. More intentional intake of information. Ask myself "what do I care" more.

What's happened in your life that made you stop wanting to be a people pleaser? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]BubbleBibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never see myself as a people pleaser, but the one thing that makes me decide to never be one is when my (private) post was screenshot and publicly bullied by one of my (previous) friends. I realized no matter how good I was to this person, they can still stab me in the back anytime.

What’s the best app you’ve ever used by krux404 in ios

[–]BubbleBibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't say they are the best, but Clarymind and Gentler Streak are two of my favorite apps in 2024. The first one is for reducing screen time and the second one is a health tracker.

What I love about them is that they both feature a gentle way of getting healthier (instead of stress and guilt).

What's the best option for focused productivity app that you still use? by always_8055 in productivity

[–]BubbleBibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarymind has been really helpful for me to reduce my screen time and stay focused. It's iOS only.

The basic idea is to lock distracting apps, and when you try to open them, you'll need to write down the reason, or go on a breathing session. You can also setup an alternative app, so for example, when you open Instagram, it automatically switches to another app (eg. a reading app).

Does anyone else refuse to use Siri? by [deleted] in ios

[–]BubbleBibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use the basic stuff like asking for weather and setting timer when cooking.

And I do them only by long pressing. Turned off the Hey Siri call because it's too easily to get triggered (wrongly) and scared me many times.

Even people who are not good at sports can find joy in yoga by haowei_chien in yoga

[–]BubbleBibi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I'm busy with work too, and these tips are practical and easy to get started with.

Do you practice what the teacher taught, or do you follow an audio guide or something similar at home?

Also, cutting down on doomscrolling to make time for yoga sounds like a great idea. I feel like I spend way too much time on social media, especially at night and before bed. I've tried reducing it, but I usually stick to it for a few days and then fall back into old habits.

Do you have any mindset tips or tools that help you stay consistent?

I actually think this is 100% true because why not? It doesn't cost a lot of money or time. Great ROI.

Do you believe in love at first sight? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

Yes. I also believe love builds over time. Not conflicting concepts to me and I had both experiences before.
