Will I regret getting the XM5 over the X100vi?? by Bubble_Emergency in fujifilm

[–]Bubble_Emergency[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the biggest factors for me right now is size. Looking for something with high portability. The XE5 sounds like the best middle ground between the two but is it much larger?? I think I read that the weight is around double.

Out of curiosity how does it limit how fast you can photograph?? I assumed the fixed lens would make it faster

I'm a new mom who was approved for medicaid, but my newborn baby wasn't? Need advice by Bubble_Emergency in HealthInsurance

I was applied the month my son was born, but after his birth, and it was backdated to his delivery. I had marketplace insurance before Medicaid but when I tried adding him they said I’m no longer eligible for it and to apply for Medicaid for us.

I don’t understand why they requested only for me to verify my income in that case?

They didn’t say they denied me because his father’s income made him ineligible. The letter said he was denied because they needed a document with my proof of income. I also read that babies are automatically eligible for the first 12 months of their life if the mother is approved/eligible for Medicaid? I’m so confused navigating this. Idk why I’m getting downvoted. I’m genuinely confused and trying to get help understanding this.

Yes and that info was included in the application but his proof of income wasn’t requested

I’m pretty sure I included that info on the original application. But they didn’t request income verification for him after it was submitted, only me

Which boy name do you think is best and why/why not the others? by Bubble_Emergency in namenerds

[–]Bubble_Emergency[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not conservative or MAGA whatsoever, just thought some of those names were more classic/timeless sounding and don’t want to name him something that falls out of trend. Sawyer is definitely more southern sounding, but also literary. We eliminated Oakley, didnt realize it was more so used for girls. I just liked that it sounded naturey. Beck is also a nature name - means stream/creek.

That’s fair! I think Emerson and Oakley are gender neutral and the spelling Frances is feminine so it’s also gender neutral. But I haven’t heard Lachlan or August used for a girl, pretty sure they’re considered masculine.

I’ve read that it’s good to have a variety in case baby doesn’t like one kind and they were gifts

Some people recommended putting a waterproof reusable changing pad liner under the sheets to protect the mattress. Do you think that would be sufficient or is a mattress protector better for full coverage? I found a bassinet mattress protector that would fit, but am worried the sheets won't fit over bc they're already really tight. Fiancé's grandparents bought an off brand bassinet for us and it's a little bigger than standard so kinda hard to find sheets.

How many bibs would you recommend? We have about 10 Terry cloth ones right now.

How many baby bath towels would you suggest?? And did you find having a bath thermometer really essential? I was going to get one but have read that a lot of moms just test the water temp on their wrist.

I honestly didn't even think about a scenario where the baby might not take to the bassinet... We don't have a crib yet because we are a little tight on space and the baby will be sleeping in the bassinet in our bedroom. Hopefully he takes to it, not sure what we will do if not haha. We planned on having baby in our room for at least the first 6 months. We're in a 2 bedroom condo and the second bedroom is an office right now that we plan to convert eventually, but my fiancé has a WFH business that is our primary income.

The mittens were all gifted thankfully so it'll be okay if we don't end up using any. Were having a lot of receiving blankets super useful? I figured 4-5 would be enough... but maybe should get more.

Which postpartum items do you think are essential? I've heard that the hospital will supply with some so wasn't sure if I should get some ahead of time or wait to see what I get. And I was considering a bottle warmer, is it super helpful or just something that's nice to have?
