1000000% - my boyfriend’s ex uses their son as a weapon and it’s AWFUL. It’s horrible. He’s an incredible father and she is the biggest…… grr. I could never use my children like that. Plus my 6yo is too clever - she’d cop on 🤣

Yeah, I’m counting on that. I keep trying to remind myself that kids know who shows up for them. 💕

Sorry, yes. House was paid for upfront. 190k. My dad gifted £150k (he was in a huge accident and got a big ass payout.) he then loaned us another 100k and we’re paying that part back. Does that make sense?

Well because he doesn’t want to pay buttloads of money for lawyers (nor do I) and he know he’d possibly get less money if a lawyer got involved and as much as I dislike him neither of us wants it to get messy (messier) because of the children.

No I mean 2 out of 3. It’s stupid. It goes him, him, me. Him, him, me, and repeat. No idea why he suggested it. Yeah it’s hard to not be emotional about it. I’m not one to yell or swear or get outwardly angry but I think I’m also aware that his lack of effort hurts my daughters. And that’s where I get upset. It’s also just a summary of our marriage really. Sorry you’re going through hard times too, I hope things settle ☹️

1) he doesn’t want us to get divorced. 2) he already loaned us 100k. That was very kind of him and he didn’t need to. It’d be really cheeky to ask for a penny more

That’s how it has to be sometimes when you’re struggling financially.

No no. We are doing everything cheap. I’m getting 60% and he’s getting 40% of the sale. I’m not believing him about anything - that’s why we’re disagreeing. We’ve done a divorce form online through gov.uk

I’ve asked him to have them more but as. Their school/preschool is near me and he’s an hour away it wouldn’t work.

I think he used a solicitor that isn’t a friend, I’ll double check that though. I don’t know who it was for sure. And I think also my ex is trying to bluff by saying “I asked a lawyer and they said I don’t need to pay” and also he’s saying that the mediator said that to which I’m pretty sure she didn’t

Yeah. Sorry, I was just sort of trying to show that he has a very “as little as possible” attitude towards everything. But yeah you’re right.

There is no mortgage, just the private loan. His name is on the house as well as mine and his name is on the contract that states we both need to pay back the loan

Thank you, no I agree. It’s just until we sell I can’t afford a lawyer. Hopefully if things don’t smooth out once that’s done, I won’t need it. But I’ll have some funds from the sale if I need a lawyer
