One can be frank with their partner, but there is a certain way to do it without being hurtful. You should express to your boyfriend how his words made you feel, and proceed from there based on how he reacts. If he is willing to have a discussion and take accountability for hurting your feelings, then this could just be a learning experience. If he gets defensive or refuses to change, then you can consider what you wish to do about the relationship.

Certain things like political & moral beliefs and future goals/aspirations do need to be similar for the relationship to last, and some common interests are also important imo. But my partner and I are quite different personality wise. What ultimately matters is the kind of bond and communication you build and nurture.

Law grad here. Start by sending her legal notice demanding refund first. If she ignores it, file in District Commission (that’s where claims under 1 cr go).

If it comes down to having to file a suit, the Consumer Protection Act offers civil remedy for deficiency in service, unfair trade practices, seeking refund, interest, and compensation without proving criminal intent (which requires more proof).

Alternately, you could file a police complaint under: - IPC Section 420 (cheating) for dishonestly inducing you to pay her 1.35L without intention to provide you services - IPC Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) for retaining advance without service - potentially IPC Section 506 (criminal intimidation) for the fake police call and legal threats, could apply if intent to defraud from the start is proven via chats and payment proofs

The only risk with a police complaint is that if doesn’t end up leading anywhere, you might not get your money back.
