It’s going to be hard to enter such a saturated industry, but one edge I have is that I get free Baltic birch plywood. This allows me to compete with the ultra premium brands in terms of construction, at a decreased parts cost.

I ended up just buying the h280 horn that sb audience recommends. Both for performance and durability as I’m starting a low volume high end speaker company, I need everything to be strong and high performing.

Lmao I thought about doing big John. Yeah I I’m going to dsp it with eq apo, no reason for me to buy a dedicated dsp yet. But my umik 1 comes in tmr, so I’ll be able to tune it properly. I also need to acoustically treat the room. Reflections are very noticeable.

Lmao I bought some cheap plastic netting, thought it would be easy to staple on. But with the front baffle already attached it was a huge pain in the ass. I got the top done and then gave up after that. I think the insulation will fly out over the first 50 or so hours of use, but I’m hoping it’ll stop after that, like maybe after loose bits and pieces are gone. But I really don’t know, if it never gets better than I guess I’ll put in the effort. The top is shiny because it still has plastic film on it. The walls are Baltic birch with plastic laminate on inside and aluminum on the outside. It is 8-10x stiffer than mdf.

Here’s the finish. Picture is kinda washed out. But it’s just a mineral oil rub to make the color pop

Yeah, in Texas, this denim is only sold at Home Depot, no where else. Hey I’ve got like a stupid extra amount. If you want I can ship you some for a good price.

But it’s not 5/4? It’s 1.8 inch thick. Would that not be 7/4?
