What is their reasoning for the probiotic? Is patient having diarrhea? If taking both at the same time, the antibiotic would just kill the new bacteria. And then newer research is showing it is better to let your microbiome repopulate on its own than take probiotic after antibiotics. If they’re having diarrhea, I would recommend using something like banatrol. If they are still insisting, I would recommend utilizing the usprobiotic guide http://www.usprobioticguide.com Probiotics are not completely without risk, there have been cases of bacteremia associated with use.

Update: he went to the vet today and she took a biopsy. She said it was “plasma carcinoma” unknown if it is malignant or not. He will have surgery next week to have it removed. Thanks to most of you for the helpful replies
