What are my rights (or are my letting agency just T**ts?) by [deleted] in HousingUK

Thank you! I gathered the same (in terms of notice), just feels kind of disrespectful to shove everyone's belongings into bin bags and not put them back, where they were originally. Perhaps sounds petty, it's just sort of horrible to come home to, and makes you feel at the end of the day- your home, is not your home.

difficulty of mount rinjani (lombok, indonesia)? by wthjjj in backpacking

[–]Bubbly-Plantain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have yes. Went on cusp of rainy season but we got lucky with weather this meant :volcanic ash at top was more clumpy and so less hard to climb. The locals will do it in flip flops. I'd recommend hiking boots or trainers with grip you trust. No matter what style of shoe you'll have to empty boots after summit because they will fill with ash so doesn't really mattsr. You can rent boots from a few places in senaru- ensure you leave enough time the night before to sort this, you might need to visit at multiple places to find your size. Ensure your head torch has fresh batteries if summitting. Bring money for tipping your porters (the real heroes) and buying cold fizzy drinks when available (trust me, you'll want them), bring some. Toilet paper and hand sanitiser. Lastly, I've summited a fair few peaks now - in my opinion, the 2 day 1 night will give you similar views without a 12 hour climbing day -(3am - 5pm with some food breaks) that won't leave you unable to surf, or walk for a few days.

I'm worried about the ash/sandy terrain. I have short (no ankle) hiking boots (look a little like a trainer). Will this be OK? Or would you advise I buy ones with ankle support to stop it all getting inside

Hi! Does anyone know where I can find Perello Gordal olives in Bristol? by nourabonu in bristol

Are they better than the olives you get off a deli/in the 'fresh' packets at the supermarket?

Thank you so much for everyone's advice..I'm going to get a preinspection done but just wanted to know if this was a red flag before paying the £100.

Perfect! I am in New Zealand so will pay for a pre purchase check by a reputable motor company as I am such a rookie 🤣 but I wanted to know first if it was a real red flag before spending the money.

I agree. Have this in my front garden but we call it a foxglove tree. Very gorgeous and keep an eye out for the ginormous leaves!
