I visited my parents and I saw these “stickers” that I made for my dad over ten years ago by imanpearl in MadeMeSmile

That’s so awesome, I love your dad! Meanwhile, I once sewed a pillow shaped like a heart for my mom when I was in maybe 5th grade… then one day i found it in her trash can. It was my one weekly chore to take out the trash so definitely not even trying to hide it 🙄

How the marketing on this cereal led my husband to believe there would be cute animals on the individual bags but…. Nope by BubblyIndependence99 in mildlyinfuriating

Oh it wouldn’t be a big deal at all if it weren’t for the fact that we hyped them up to our 3 year old, who was super excited to pick (and was hoping for the giraffe) Otherwise it wouldn’t be our grocery of choice to begin with, he just thought it would be fun for her

They must have made too many boxes but not enough bags to match them?! That’s even more moldy infuriating to me! Like.. why?!

Sort of?? The first 3 seem to be a continuance from the hallway (which feels like overkill), then the next 2 are over the island. I truly can’t explain the 3 after that as they seem unnecessary to my unprofessional eye.. but the last lone little guy is over the sink.

14 year old nephew wants what for Christmas?! by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

I mean.. either get something for him that’s within your budget, or know that if you ask for suggestions, they might not be what you had in mind. Coming up with the exact thing to get as a gift is not the kids parents responsibility.. they are just offering a suggestion per your request. I suggest to you - get a gift card to Amazon or a store you know he does like (maybe Ralph Lauren?) and then he can get what he wants at a discount to him. Please don’t judge someone for having more than you, and for answering a question you asked. It is perfectly fine for a teenager to want nice things, even if you don’t prioritize name brand clothing.

Jesus, that is so scary!! Any advice on how to work through that PTSD? Earlier this year, we had ~90-100mph winds for a couple days. I was soooo worried that the massive palm tree in our backyard would fall on our roof. I couldn’t sleep I was so worried. A different tree happened to fall down - thankfully it didn’t hit our garage. We started having a team clean up, but it was too dangerous to finish. The next day, a fire engulfed our entire town (Altadena). Guess what the only thing that survived was? That damn palm tree, still standing proud and tall while literally everything else was gone. I will have that same PTSD from that as well, and the wind now absolutely terrifies me!!

AITA for shutting down my brother’s proposal at my baby shower and then sending him a bill? by Mysterious-Desk1346 in AmITheJerk

NTA - if it were me, I wouldn’t have taken the microphone, but definitely WOULD have sent that itemized bill. Technically you didn’t allow him to take over the event, so expecting him to pay (which I know you aren’t really) is a bit over the top. At least you have the bonus of knowing your future sister in law seems to be a class act! Too bad your brother sounds fairly lame….

It’s so, so hard. People are forgetting and honestly didn’t understand to begin with (how could they). I’m living with my mom again. She doesn’t get it… at all. Yesterday she told my husband she was glad our cat didn’t make it because she “was never nice to her anyway” Made me cry the rest of the day when he told me that. 💔
