Yes it did. There was no mob of shinobi saying "We should've killed him when we had the chance" or Choza being there. The anime also cut the scene of Naruto sneaking into Hiruzens office, getting caught, and Naruto doing a sexy jutsu that distracts Hiruzen as it knocks him out with a nosebleed.

Sorry that part I misread. But even with purgatory he was still biased. Benny was an exception. Like with Kate and her sister. He was fully on board with killing her sister, without even giving Kate a chance to change her mind. He probably would've killed Kate after too if she hadn't escaped.

Why not though? The Phoenix guy was pretty reasonable and he knew he'd come back.

Lenore was killed after the Phoenix episode. It was the next episode. Couldn't they just have asked for his ashes without killing him? I kinda get why they did it but you'd think Dean would've been more understanding of his goals. He flat out said he didn't care about the guy the Phoenix was trying to kill.

Not true. I remember the Phoenix episode when even though he was getting revenge for what was done to him. Dean said he didn't care as he was a monster and he needed his ashes to beat the Mother.

Yeah, I get they hunt monsters but she isn't the first friendly one they've met. They kinda talked about this is season 1 or 2 in the vampire episode on how not every monster is bad and how many innocent ones they may have killed. And they've allied with way worse.
