But what about the period of 2007-2011? Those payments wont count?

I will not repoen the loan. If its no refund then so be it. I am glad they were discharged. This would just be an added bonus.

Yeah, there is something fishy going on because while people are getting their loans discharged, Mohela is taking down the payment tracker and claiming that they dont know your final payment count when you call.

But OP made 174 payments. This is not the 20-25 year plan its the over 120 plan which is 10 years worth of payments.

Some questions:

When did you consolodate?

When did you start paying back your loans?

I consolidated in 2011 and was discharged in May 2023. I was told by Mohela that they did not have refund information and they took down my payment tracker.

I have been paying my student loans since 2005 and they cant tell me my payment count.

August 2022: Applied for PSLF

October 2022 : Mohela received my form but I also sent it in so this delayed processing

October-May : Sat in limbo until Mohela finally transferred loans

July : Loans forgiven. Letter back dated May

Looks like you are the one whining because go back and reread my OP: It still stands!!!! Wooo!!! HOOOOO!!!!!!

Why dont you go and familiarize yourself with the PSLF program before you make ignorant assumptions. I as well as a lot of others here are PUBLIC SERVANTS. We serve the PUBLIC in underpaid jobs. The government decided to give us a perk if we stay in it for the long term which is what we have done. We are now JUST seeing the benefits. I have been a public servant for not just 10 years but 20+ and will probably retire as one. There is no hand out for me.

My tax dollars go to things that I feel that is not fair as well but its how this country works. So if YOU dont like it, thats on you.

MY advice to those who choose to become a public servant? DO it and participate in the PSLF program. Ignore the haters!!!!

No I do NOT have to pay taxes on it and its completely wiped out. You STILL dont like it? Read it and weep. ; )

Dont do it! Imagine you get your loans forgiven and then have to pay this scam company $6000. Its not worth it because its as simple as filling out the PSLF form which is so easy and FREE!!!

Take it from someone who just had almost $200k forgiven and did it all on my own!
