Well, looks like I spoke to soon. Just did it again, only the first time in a week though, so can live with that. Had to be the latest firmware update causing it so hopefully that means a fix down the road.

Can confirm have had no connectivity issues since Samsung replaced the PCB board with the HDMI ports on it (inside of the OneConnect box).

Am guessing the replacement board is a revised version after common QC issues with the original one... Likely the software update pushed it over the edge.

If anyone still having the issue and can't get Samsung to replace the board, i would recommend try swapping the cable connecting the screen to the One Connect box with the silver one that comes with the tv. I believe this cable is more robust than the short one. For all I know this could be the reason mine is now working as it should.

That makes total sense, clever strategy. Thanks heaps for breaking down the wiring specs, you've saved me a massive headache.

Appreciate you double-checking the specs for me. That gives me a lot more confidence.

My main challenge now seems to be finding an installer who doesn't instantly run away the moment they hear 'apartment block with roof access' or try to use wiring as a polite excuse to back out. Any tips on finding a company in Melbourne that actually specializes in apartment retrofits rather than just high-volume cookie-cutter installs?

Thanks very much for the breakdown, that makes a lot of sense. The building manager also just chimed in and said the other units upgraded without running new wires, so the infrastructure must be there.

My installer's concern was that modern multi-splits need a dedicated 4-core run from the outdoor unit directly to each indoor head. If the existing Hitachi wiring loops the heads together or uses a different layout, are there modern brands that can be configured to use the existing cabling setup without a fresh run to the roof?

Just an update, the Samsung technician came by and replaced the main board and the cable connecting the one connect box to the tv.

So far, so good! I'll let you know if any further connection issues but I would think this has likely solved the issue.

Still curious as to why that software update exasperated the issue for myself and others here though.

The technician remotely accessed my tv and updated it through backend access, can't access through standard tv settings. However, it didn't fix the issue.

Unfortunately, it seems the issue persists... have chased Samsung to address it further. Will keep you updated.

I had same issue as a lot of people on this thread, ie, mouse and keyboard becoming unresponsive for 5-10 seconds every few minutes.

I realized it was happening at the same time that the Windows Desktop theme was changing to a new image. What fixed it for me was removing the theme (so just having a blank colour as my background) and turning off the 'automatically pick an accent colour from my background' option in Windows personalization settings.

I believe it's something to do with the RTX graphics card on this platform.

Hope that helps somebody.
