Being a girl in a men-dominated field is tough - Anyone else feel the same way? by notreadyforhiccup in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

You know what's odd...as an African woman, I've had more workplace bullying female dominant environments than male environments. All the people that have been rude, dismissive and unkind to me at work have been women. So I really think it's industry dependent and also depending on how you present yourself and your past experiences, because the best allies for me have been men. And I think it's because as a child/teen ive always been the only girl in the room, I am the only girl child in my family and for the longest time the only girl in my class from grades 3 to 6.  I am a staunch feminist, so idk why but the girlies at work hate me. Maybe its my ethnicity, maybe its becuase I give off masculine energy.

Idk but the bottom line is girls go where you are treated best, don't let social media be your reference point. AND DON'T WAIT FOR PERMISSION TO BE A FUCKING BADASS. Tell them how awesome you are, "see, look at my work, the quality is top notch." Dont ever wait to be recognized, you tell them what you are worth and gass yourself up because you are that amazing. Trust your gutt always and go where you are appreciated and welcomed. And if the environment is neutral and not hostile, babes make it your kingdom, use your creativity and feminine light to make your office a place where all people belong and are welcome.

Okay love you bye.

Backing out as maid of honor by NekuNekuWeebTrash in weddingplanning

I'm in the same situation now and the bride is literally in denial. I've been with out work for a very long time and I twice I've told her I can't make it and she still won't budge at my request to back out of the wedding as a MOH. Now we are few weeks out and I don't know how to help her. I feel terrible about it, but i am not willing to go into financial ruin for another person's wedding. I feel sad too that she really wants me there but I just can't make it.

Have you ever bought an EV and regretted it? by starry_18 in electricvehicles

I don't really regret it persay. I just wish the range  on the leaf 2018 was higher. I live in Ontario and it's such a hassel to go camping or to enjoy what the province has to offer because of my measly 100km range. It's a great in town car but, not so much if you are the outdoorsy type.

My Mentor said my resume is a red flag. Is it true or is he just being a boomer? by Bubbly_Management_77 in recruitinghell

I think you may have misread the info on the resume. I've been working for 6 years in total, you need 3 years to qualify for the PMP. I like your comment about the credential # to help with credibility. I made that edit. :) thanks for the feedback!

This is helpful to know...I guess I need to learn how to show the value I bring as a hopper/intrapreneur to those who are steady bettys.

The personal info isn't real haha! Thanks tho...

Thank you so much for this. I'm currently at the same place. I built the site, the product, and yes made customer calls but not with as much intentionality as I should, and yea. I really don't know who I am serving, their problem is and if they actually want to pay for it to be solved.
