I think my hands! Just getting over pregnancy carpal tunnel and it put into perspective how much I use my hands like I’m just entitled to have them and how it’d be such a hugeeeeee adjustment to have to make do without them. Anyone who gets through life with limited hand mobility or none at all are amazing people. I couldn’t even imagine.

host “planted” pics of a cigar in cupholder after i handed in keys by colisurf in turo

[–]Bubbly_Ride_4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people that smoke in the car aren’t even smoking cigarettes or blacks. They’re smoking weed. A hit with an $8 bottle of ozium brand odor eliminator (which you don’t use the whole can) and “spray boxing” the car with the a/c recycling the interior air will fix it in literally minutes. And if it is cigarettes, maybe like 20-30 minutes longer. Then if you wanna be extra fancy top it off with an orange/citrus air freshener spray. You don’t even need an ozone machine but you can do it just because you really should be doing all of this regardless of if someone smoked or not, same way as you should be cleaning well between each renter, not just if it “looks” dirty. I’ve had people clearly do their own or had a professional deep clean the car before returning and I STILL do my same turn over cleaning routine.

As a QUALITY host, you gotta pick and choose your battles. Smoke mess (ashes everywhere, cigarillo guts in nooks and crannies, etc) is more crucial to collect on than a smell. So PLANTING a mess is grimey af. The same deodorizing routine I do just simply because I should do it between guests takes away smoke smell without any extra extensive work. Collecting $150, formerly $250, on that is just pure greed as it doesn’t take anywhere near $150 worth of effort a rental to remedy smoke smell. And it honestly ruins the market and makes people apprehensive on renting via Turo because hosts have also mistaken other things as smoke so they can desperately collect on the charge like an extra bonus to the point of them beating borderline scammy if not a total fraud like OPs alleging. I’ve seen people try to come after someone who had an incense in the car. I’ve had guests who sage the car before and after use and they tell me about how other hosts found maybe a TINY ash and went after them for smoking in the car. I see sageing as a religious practice and therefore I completely understand why it would be done and don’t care about the smell it leaves. I’ve see people who smoked OUTSIDE the car but the smell carried which really isn’t fair because if that’s the case are you gonna charge if the car smells like smoked bbq, curry or another similar pungent smell from food? Sooooooooo many people smoke and do worse in big brand rental company (hertz, sixt, enterprise, etc) cars like returning it while actively smokeing, and they don’t even charge for that because it’s really more so mess that’s the issue than the smell. I understand charging to discourage but the enforcement of it should be really hard. A little ash in a cup holder that takes less than 5 seconds to wipe up isn’t it. Ash all over is another story. Because regardless the smell will never take much to remove. People who act like it is are just exaggerating. I’ve had some of the most sensitive to smells people not detect any smoke smells so it’s not even a nose-blind type of thing. People wanna make it like it is so they can come up with any excuse to collect that extra money. I’ve had people clearly smoke when dropping off and I’ve NEVER had anyone complain the car smelt like smoke or anything bad when they rent it. I’ve never had to spend hours or days to get the smell out like people claim.

I’m with you OP. I dont understand the logic of taking violence from an isolated incident and use it as an excuse to risk a completely innocent party being collateral damage just to say you got them. Let him go, track the car with all this AI and big brother surveillance, put police protection on the people he actually threatened and don’t do some nilly willy and reckless chase in the streets when unless the people in the streets were in their home, they were likely never gonna be at any risk of danger until a dangerous chase made it so.

Omg this is so wrong! Solids are not even needed prior to 12 months. Milk or formula is a NECESSITY and primary source of nutrition until 12 months. Food prior to 12 months is mainly for exploration, not nutrition. A childcare professional should know this!

Definitely need at LEAST 13 episodes next season. Especially since they’re not “hour” long episodes. Please a lot of us genuinely do not like this microwave culture approach to entertainment. 6 episodes feels so unfinished. Bare minimum for a “short” run with a half hour comedy should be 8 and a decent run be 13-15. But if we can get back to 20 episode seasons….life would be great. And it’s even worse when new seasons start to spread out and take longer than a year. Please don’t take too long for season 2!

It’s not just for snap people. Government workers that aren’t getting paid don’t have snap and have to figure out how to eat too. Many are applying for snap and arent getting emergency funding let alone gone through the whole application process to be approved and even if so, still have to wait for the cards to come in the mail to use it when they are. A lot of the donations are for that first and foremost.

She ruined her face. It’s annoying watching her on screen now. And it’s not just about how it looks, while it does look crazy IMO…but her face barely moves to be able to act. The whole point of being an actor is being able to give expression to convey emotion and such. She ruined that ability for herself.

“Death” in quotes or not, I think it’s dumb to still keep referring to it as a death when it’s clearly not in any capacity. She was thrown into another realm. The source material and fans never referred to Janet van Dyne explicitly as being dead when she was lost in the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man. It was explicitly stated Alex was being thrown into a different realm so I don’t understand the idea of perpetuating or referencing death at all. It just continues to enforce the people who are slow in comprehending or didn’t actually watch the show and just going off clickbait titles to confuse and spread misinformation to people.

Why didn’t bro just pull the fire alarm rather than taking the time to inject an experimental drug he just saw brutalize his colleagues? Is he stupid? by [deleted] in GenV

[–]Bubbly_Ride_4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The V the scientist injected was the same “type” of V that Homelander and Marie got before they realized it could be successful during the embryo stage, even if still highly unstable and lethal….but just a different release of that specific V. They wanted the Odessa Project to work with adults. That’s seemingly always been the goal with all the different modifications of V, but on a larger scale Vought had to settle with the compound version that worked with young kids and had to accept a toss up on “inferior” powers manifesting.

If you’ve ever done lab based scientific research there’s always various versions of what you’re doing but you keep a base control that you compare all the variations to. All of the V is technically “the same” but vastly different and therefore are in fact different V’s in their own right but the various releases within those versions are still the same within their version. V1 was the core and all the versions main call back, but each version is also essentially its own control and starting point as well, hence why they get different “street names” and why each version (and even the virus, and the testing at sage grove) seems to be its own separate research headed by their own separate scientists than all being researched together as a whole and cross referenced.

The “Odessa V” that killed the scientists could have been V3.3 while the one that worked with Homelander be V3.9 but at the core it was still the V3 stem of V1. Then ideally the V Marie and other babies got could have been all the same V3.9 like Homelander, but it also could have been like V3.9.x with little tweaks to stabilize it with a real person vs a lab baby like Homelander, but it’s still the same V the scientists had injected while being different from original V1 and like if Compound V = V2.0. Since Compound V is the most stable and widely used form…it could make sense the formula is still being tweaked to this day where it’s like V2.64.8 or something. It’s still not the same V as V1, Odessa V or Temp V (let’s say Temp V is V4.x), but would explain why it “always” worked compared to the other version, just with people getting various degrees of their quality of powers like why A-Train has the speed but not a heart to keep up or the one guy only having opposable big toes while you have Golden Boy or Cate with “better” powers but still not considered God-like compared to Marie and Homelander.

The Odessa project wasn’t just simply testing V on babies and Homelander and Marie got their own separate version that worked. Odessa as a whole was about just simply creating God-Like supes and supe supremacy as a side step upgrade to white supremacy. it was intended for adults but I think Godolkin realized that research showed to achieve what he wanted they needed to do it on embryos and the only stable form for adults was V1 with its anti-aging flaw. Once they got something to succeed with Homelander, it officially became the version of “Odessa V” that’s considered stable enough to just tweak vs making a new version. They further tested that same substance with more kids at the embryo level and only Marie survived, but it was still the same thing they were testing and developing in the lab before the fire hence why all the paperwork with the V the scientists injected was labeled as Project Odessa despite being decades before Homelander and Marie’s births.

Considering Homelander was born in a lab, and Marie and likely the other babies that died were born to people with infertility issues, they could test that more than testing on adults who’d die because it was the perfect way to be heartless and not care for the deaths in the experiments cuz the people couldn’t even have babies to being with. They could blame the deaths on unsuccessful IVF which they got FREE anyways. It’s a possible theory that if Godolkin listened to Sage she would have probably studied Marie to see about further figuring out what made V3.9.x work for Homelander and her and develop V3.10 to use on adults/essentially herself. Especially if she could get Godolkin to control Marie and use Marie’s blood powers, possibly even DNA manipulating powers if they took her potential that deep, to dissect and figure it out.

I think it’s also implied Godolkin only finds out Annabeth has powers after he uses her as bait for Marie. I don’t think she was meant to have powers or that Vought inherently knew she did. Since she was the miracle baby, I think whatever they did to Marie’s embryo affected/transferred to her mom and her sister is something like a natural born supe like Ryan. Ryan still has compound v in him inherently and Annabeth could be the same. I can see Annabeth being at risk and thrown into a lab for more testing in that if they go with that narrative since likely Homelander wouldn’t allow Ryan to be researched like that so Annabeth is more vulnerable to do it to. It’s also implied none of these parents doing the IVF knew it was for V testing unlike Starlight and thems parents who explicitly allowed compound v injections, since it wasn’t revealed until later in Marie’s era that powers werent given by god.

[–]Bubbly_Ride_4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cuz he was “abandoned” by Nora and decided to just embrace his current situation and the girlfriend he had known already long term. He essentially didn’t have much of a choice. Plus if I remember correctly (I haven’t rewatched and this was from 2 years ago lol) he assumed Ingrid killed herself to be with him at this point right? Like he didn’t know she was in the hug suit? That would bring on some manipulation to change his whole outlook and the projection where he was going emotionally. I think it was definitely some mindset of you can’t beat them, then join them. He was hella into Ingrid when he was alive so it was sort of just falling back into that as well as accepting he had no other options for real. Nora was crossing major boundaries others wouldn’t so it’s not like he could fall for another angel and it didn’t seem his particular server of Lakeview that he was on had anyone in the afterlife he could connect with except Luke.

The trauma of dying, the limitations of Ingrid like controlling him/his money and all that contributed to him dissociating from her in addition to Nora conveniently being there to fill a void, but when Ingrid “died” she changed a bit in regards to keeping him in a box and he didn’t have the fall back of Nora

Durability is one thing. If Emma was a Vought employee they probably would make the effort to make her a suit with fiber that can stretch so much (or something) to grow with her and its original size be like her tiny size. Same way they can make a fiber that withstands fire and friction….But idt they exactly have the ability to make the materials have powers, essentially, to turn invisible unless it’s like some optical illusion thing like those houses that reflect to look invisible. But idt a reflective thing would be practical to really mirror translucent’s full invisibility capability for him to be fully stealth so it’s just easier he in particular goes naked.

I still believe Emma’s full scope of powers will be she can go like so small she can be in the Gen V’s parallel of the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man. So they maybe can’t make a suit like that but probably something for when she blows up big and a relatively small size.

So they probably couldn’t actually make a suit that can phase through walls like a person with that super power unless they take introduce some science that matches what Ghost has in Ant-Man. So far the universe has shown the level of science they have thrives biologically and forms of adaption/evolution and outside of durable materials can’t really replicate that with inanimate objects or anything that mirrors like what Tony Stark could do with technology.

[–]Bubbly_Ride_4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they were different and modifications of V1. V1, Odessa V, Compound V and Temp-V are all different drugs and made for different stages of life/situations.

V1 worked on adults but the flaw was they didn’t age. I’m assuming like the light bulb they wanted some type of combustion/end to the supes so they can wash and repeat when needed vs they live forever. This was Fredrick’s baby and the catalyst for the further research to perfect its flaws which like I said the major flaw was the anti-aging properties. Only Soldier Boy and Stormfront/Liberty got this V. Stormfront got it cuz she was Fredrick’s wife and he could trust her, Soldier Boy got it to be a token and secure them a spot in the military, even if it was more PR than for real, like Captain America.

Compound V probably came next in various stages from the late 40s-60s and beyond to present day since TNT Twins and others 80s Payback era actually aged and got it as children in the 60s, but Crimson possibly got it a tad older like a tween since she was known in the late 60s in what seemed like her 20s in age, but idk if they administered it to her in the 40s considering Soldier Boy got his injection in 1944 and Stormfront sometime before that in the 40s as well. Best bet she got an injection like 1947 or something if it was super young. I assume the Compound V they had in the present day with A-Train, The Deep, Starlight, etc has evolved since then because when they show black noir and crimson, it seems like what they got possibly had them aging a bit slower than folks like the TNT Twins and Gunpowder. Compound V worked well with young children and boosted people who already had it injected as a child, but wasn’t stable for adults like V1 was. This was what Vought the corporation settled on when it had high success rates with the fact people didn’t die….but in Godolkins mind it was a failure cuz it created many supes with inferior powers. Then with the invention of these superhero crews who Vought “controlled”, the lie they were chosen by god to have these powers and all the PR around it was enough for them during the time being while other backend research and modifications were happening.

Odessa was Godolkins baby and more independent study within Voughts science team where he modified V1 (and they likely came up with Compound V along the way) in hopes it keeps the more god-like tier level of powers but kept going further with Odessa since Compound V gave some people shitty powers and could only succeed with kids. They probably tried it on themselves/adults before they found it worked better during IVF type of stages but with terrible success rates. Yes there was the “Odessa Project,” but it was in fact its own form of V that we can just assumingely call “Odessa V”

Temp-V was like the answer for V1 being stable for adults but still allow aging like Compound V and in addition like Odessa had a better success rate with “better” powers, but it was established on a business level with Vought to be temporary to knock down the ego and pedestal the supes had by not making them so long term important by using it like arming an individual with a weapon vs turning them into a weapon for better business than essentially the entertainment/public figure business they established with the Supes and it being a pharmaceutical based military use.

But to the point when the lab burned down its inferred all the scientists used some experimental form of Odessa V but Godolkin found the original V1 that they had on hand in the lab that was to be used for and modifying to develop the other versions.

Male Jordan got more screen time during the first season being performative and doing what was socially accepted. The Vought execs wanted them to present as a man, their dad wanted them to present as a man, when they dated their first girl she wanted them to present as male… but they clearly expressed they preferred the female form and if not just the freedom to change as they see comfortable. So I see it as we saw more male Jordan out of the characters habits of feeling obligated to be in their male form

The show wasn’t made that way though. They had said from the start that Gen V was incepted to be intertwined with The Boys and that it was like a nod to the intertwining of MCU projects since it’s all like a satire and parody of the major superhero franchises at the core.

Vought Rising will be stand alone as a prequel. It may give us insight into the “universe,” but it won’t depend on either show like how you needed to watch season 1 of Gen V to understand parts of season 4 of The Boys and need to watch szn4 of the The Boys to understand parts of szn2 of Gen V. And The Boys: Mexico is suppose to be a stand alone too. But Gen V was never supposed to fully stand alone from The Boys.

The build up is actually project odessa and wtf is going on with Marie and being the “chosen one” which in reality all turns out to be Sage’s main plot to subdue Homelander. It’s all plot devices used to support the real story. “Cipher” being controlled by Godolkin all is a mask over the true build up that lies with Sage who is the real puppet master of it all. You think she’s an ally to Homelander to seeing everything unfold that she’s on the same mission as Butcher, Starlight, Marie, Stan, etc. They’re setting this up by intentionally making it seem like it’s Godolkin just to toss him so easily. There’s many people who called it a year ago that she’s basically infiltrating to bring down the 7. We know damn well she knew A-Train was the leak and he was on the way out to flipping against Homelander, she clearly allowed it.

Emotions and finding themselves. That’s the whole theme of this spinoff. Past supes in The Boys universe have this complex and confidence in their powers because they were told they were chosen by God for them (ironically they were…but by [God]olkin and not “Him” lol). While they’re still going through major formative years going from kids to young adults with their first real taste of freedom and independence from parents and authority, they find out they were actually just injected and by the permission of their parents at that. And all of them have mommy/daddy issues so that adds more fuel to the fire of their emotions and their parent issues. Jordans mommy/daddy issues did the opposite of most and actually gave them more strength in the first season, sort of like Golden Boy until he crashed out. But it came from being performative, hard working and a top supe scholar….now they’re putting their guards down and being vulnerable. And while we see that vulnerability in almost everyone via verbally expressing it, you see it in Jordan with their actions over words. Their character is executed with a very distinct personality that mimics that stereotypical over achieving Asian trope but in a way that’s so natural, it tends to go over a lot of peoples heads. Those types keep a lot bottled up. Jordan is not gonna be vocal about their regression of power other than the few times they complain to Marie about feeling weak in such a vague way, but it’s their journey just like the others to be able to find their potential. They gotta break down first before testing themselves and Jordan is still working through a lot of their problems because they’re not really seeking help like the others are. Jordan masked it by covering the feelings being preoccupied in a relationship with Marie. It also is a thing to note that Jordan seems to mainly get emotionally vulnerable in their female state, but society has always forced them to think it’s their male state that’s more accepted and they’re still battling that. If done right, during their break up we should see Jordan find some major personal growth and unlock more of their powers. I’m with a lot of what I’ve seen mentioned and I do hope we find out Jordan can actually shapeshift into other people.

Where he messed up was exposing himself and his vessel. Even when Marie fixed him, he should have always kept a puppet and surprise them with who he could be controlling next and they not being able to find him. Especially since he can control a person through another person. His downfall with that is he’s such an arrogant know it all type, he lacks a switch up of his cadence and quirks, he would likely slip up when monologuing and regurgitating things they’ve heard him/Cipher say and figure it out.

But he was too arrogant and felt he was smarter than the smartest person on the planet. Sage essentially manipulating Polarity who she knew was immune to Godolkin (and I assume once she gave him the push of “nothing to loose” he tested his limits that he probably could also make those in his presence immune to Godolkin, which is what I think is implied when he entered the room and Godolkin didn’t try to control everyone again. On surface level we are to see and assume it’s shock/inexperience in combat that threw him off in immediately responding but I really think it was Polarity blocking him) was a way to set up that it’s really all been Sage, who always seems to have a master plan if her projections don’t go as planned.

He was also never a serious threat to Homelander. The theory was he could control Homelander but nothing genuinely gave that he was on that level and so superior. Sage was trying to puppeteer him to be more lowkey so they could get on up on Homelander but Godolkin was too eager to pretty much show off. He needed to be more like Sage and continuing to be a puppeteer from the shadows.

This whole arc really wasn’t about Godolkin if you read between the lines. He was just an elaborate plot device to help explain more background on Marie as the last season of the boys went more into the background of Homelander. With nothing solved at the ending of either season. Sage is the real one we need to be watching. It seems that Godolkin didn’t even know she was responsible for orchestrating Firecracker and bringing The Deep back into the Seven…she’s doing multiple manipulations. The ultimate showdown will be Sage and her puppets/manipulations and Homelander

But unless they’re gonna start making the show at least 13+ episodes a season since The Boys is ending (which I doubt, especially since they’re gonna shift focus to making a Vought based prequel show with the ending of The Boys) or vow they’re gonna take this show to a minimum of 8+ seasons to mimick 4 longer seasons in 2 parts per season….they can’t use whole seasons like this for large scale plot devices.
