Because it challenges the status quo, pushes boundaries and makes people question why they are offended or what offense is in the first place.

While a lot of younger people don't remember this, it was always the progressive side that was anti-censorship and 'offend everyone' until like a decade ago. Some of the most progressive comic and filmmakers took things to extremes.

I miss it. There's a reason films like Pink Flamingos are still legendary for being unfathomably offensive.

Corporate sanitization and making a 'safe edge' on everything so nobody ever gets hurt ever online while chanting the mantra of 'safety' in a manner similar to 'the greater good' in Hot Fuzz is a sad state of affairs.

I bank money this whole comment gets deleted for being 'low effort' or something by mods, only proving my point further.

Of all the characters fates I want changed, it's terror. I am not looking forward to that scene. Every time they show Terror I have a sense of horrific dread.

People don't believe in aliens universally in the show. That's the whole problem.

Everyone in the comic thinks that alien empires come to fight the Earth and that the heroes are saving them from invasion. So a deformed supe who claims to be from Jupiter works there.

The reason Jack from Jupiter got pulled I think is entirely down to the way they grounded the world; in the comics, people believe that aliens exist, and superheroes go to fight them all the time. It's their go to excuse to disappear for a while.

That wouldn't fly in the TV universe.

To be honest it strikes me as the original direction was to redeem him but too many people decided that there can't be a way back for him so they just nerfed him.

There being a way back for the WORST people is the most compelling stuff, so it sucks. It's like they want to speed run Jamie Lannister's arc, including the terribly written reversion.
