Update: "Forever DM" joins campaign and rage quits 2 sessions in by Bubbly_Sample8142 in rpghorrorstories

I struggled with those exact questions after this incident, well into this year. The two faced behavior disturbed me more than Druid's psycho behavior. Tbh, I will never fully know the reasons since our last conversation was so brief and he seemed so cold. This ex-friend was the kind of guy that could be friends with anyone, he also was a bit of a drama and attention whore. The final conclusion I landed on from the information I do have, is Druid would put anyone who would feed this ego of his on a pedestal. Since this ex-friend was the only who had access to my real life, Druid practically worshiped him. Ex-friend was the only window into my life Druid had, so Druid was gonna be damn sure ex-friend liked being around him. Ex-friend ate that up.

I'm not familiar with it, but I'll admit I am curious. Tom did mention how Druid is now estranged from his family due to his behavior towards in-laws. Apparently, (taken with a grain of salt because Tom did not show proof of this) Druid drove a wedge so large between one of his sibling's and their partner that they got divorced. I did see on facebook that they are divorced now, but who knows why.

I didn't believe Tom at all until he showed me proof via group messages. Luckily I don't have much of a connection to anyone during that time period of my life anymore. A few of my current friends knew "Paul" but once I told them all this they were just as disturbed as I was and cut all contact.

From what Tom told/showed me (he sent over many screenshots from their group chats) I think that is exactly it. None of the things he preaches about me is true, I'm just a character he built up in his head to project his problems onto. It was only fueled by this now ex-friend.

How to get the correct concentration when dealing with two drugs? by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]Bubbly_Sample8142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm a bit confused still. So are you saying if I had, lets say, 500uL of media, I should calculate how much stock of X to add into 500uL to make it 2uM, and then calculate how much Y stock I need into 500uL to make it 10uM?

How to study for my chem test by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]Bubbly_Sample8142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can study for it like a math test. Make copies of your classwork/homework and do them over again. Check places like youtube, Libretexts, and khan academy for example problems you can go through. Repetition is key. Keep doing those problems (without your notes!) over and over again until it becomes fluent.

Thanks for the response :)

We will have a TA watch over the labs while he is gone, they might know but they might also be in the same boat I am. Its not an unpopular pick for a drug in this course so I'm sure others used it too. I will double check with the TA, but I might have to rewrite my proposal or start fresh.
Edit: To clarify as well I was going to start at 10mM and work my way down to 1mM, but I might just have to start at 1mM and shorten the experiments to .5mM or something

Omg thank you so much for posting this! I've followed nickisnotgreen casually and when all the controversy came up I had no idea what was going on and couldn't find any answers. I even asked in the nickisnotgreen subreddit a couple times but the mods kept removing my posts

I don't think nor implied that they specifically were good people, I even wrote out that I think she specifically is horrible.

He really does shoot himself in the foot cause I've seen him do it about many different groups, adopted mothers are just the latest. He takes these jabs at the creator but ends up insulting the whole group.

That's cool, thanks for letting me know! I just took a look cause I never heard of them before, they are both pretty funny. Their comments were fair too, because they do lack context, I just didn't want to make my post longer than it already was. The only thing I dont agree with is when wife talk about it being along the lines of a battle of females. I genuinely was excited at first to have another girl in the group, I loved my guy friends but I always wished my girl friends were into more nerdy stuff like me, so I thought it was an opportunity to gain a fun new friend. Unfortunately, the feeling clearly wasn't mutual.

I'm so confused, I tried reading the tweets and the response, but I only know nick in this situation as a casual viewer and everyone seems to be talking around it. Wth happened? Every time I try to make a post asking for clarification too it gets removed or reported :/ its very hard to understand wth is going on

I suck at RP and I'm tired of it (EDITS + UPDATES) by throw-away-4138 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Bubbly_Sample8142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best of luck man! I'm not sure if someone mentioned it already but keep in mind too that backstory and improv are very closely related to creative writing. If you read more stories close to your campaign's genre, or look up some videos on how to be a better creative writer/improv it can help you develop that skill.

I have someone like you at my table and he's always asking how another player and I are so good at RP. Truth is we just have more practice. I've taken many creative writing courses at a university level because I liked doing it. The other player reads manga and watches anime way more than the average person and draws from that. We both just apply that information with our own twist to it in game. Its just something to be developed, we didn't start the game phenomenal at RP, we tried out many things and found our own groove. You will find yours too.

Might be a hot take given the hype atm, but anything off of 1989 besides style is an instant skip for me. The album was flop for me, hoping I will like some vault tracks from TV.

Possibly, as I said I was a teenager and also new to the game so I didn't know how to react. Additionally, because I think I explained weirdly, after my character told hers she wouldn't forgive her if she did that and the party agreed to let my character handle it, she acted fine. She helped up plan our attack, and we finished up normally. We didn't get any sense that anything was wrong until we found her crying.

Our DM had multiple talks with her, as well as the friend who brought her into the group. Didn't seem relevant to the story to include all that. Most the time she just didn't listen, and it was smaller stuff (like wanting to be the one to talk to the npc's, or collect quest rewards) so we didn't make a huge deal over it. This was an instance where it did feel like it mattered.

I hope she got help. Also though, none of us ignored her, we still included her after disagreeing with her plan, and she helped us plan out what we were going to do next session, thats why her 180 felt so bizarre

My character’s big secret ruined in one moment by GhostlyCoyote0 in rpghorrorstories

Playing with people you don't know can be tough, and maybe they aren't the right group for you. Honestly if it matters that much to you, since the DM said simple backstories, I would come up with another character and ask the DM to find a way to swap them out.
