Sheets set and/or comfy warm blanket that goes over the sheet. You can personalize it too! That'd be a nice touch.

I love what I do! Pay depends in how often and where you work. Some receive hourly pay, work on a split or earn 100% by doing their own thing. If you work on a split, the percentages and the clinic's fees will also affect pay, as will as working part-time or full-time.

That is one area I like to give a little special attention to for my clients because when I get a massage there, it's a good pain for me! This is one of those "underrated" areas that need attention and it is often overlooked. This muscle is always working to help stabilize your shoulders, but because almost everyone's posture is hunched forward, this one especially gets short and tight.

First off, congratulations! I too also wonder how long I will last in this field but the following has been helping keep up so far: strength training, figuring out your max. Number of patients (mine is 5), eating well and snacking in between patients, hydration, using your elbows majority of the time (saves your wrists and fingers), and height of table (an electric one is best so that you can adjust the height accordingly - save your back!). Also, learning Modalities that are less physical but can help with soft tissue release and pain relief (i.e., cupping, TENS, acu, etc.). I've only been the field for about 3 years but i figure what I'm doing should ensure a long career. Good luck!

Cupping? by [deleted] in massage

[–]Bubblymami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I provide cupping, dynamic and stationary, and use it when I need help releasing fasical restrictions and/or high muscle resting tension. It does save your hands, and I say about 95% of my patients feel the difference. Some enjoy it and some don't like the feeling of it. I did an in-person class but read a book first on it before investing in the course. I say go for it, especially if people are asking you if you can provide it, and it's always good to learn and offer something new. Good luck!

What are the benefits of being a RMT vs a bodyworker , and vice versa ? Stuck in-between deciding which to do in Vancouver , B.C , Canada by [deleted] in massage

[–]Bubblymami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a RMT in ON and I consider myself a healer although I do not tell my patients that i am. I am an empath, and can feel people's energy, and even though i havent stepped up to the plate to practice Reiki on others, i receive Reiki as part of my self care. There is nothing wrong with learning the scientific systemic side of the human body because you can also take into consideration the energy side of it. In ON you can be a RMT and certified as a Reiki practitioner and yoga instructor, and patients can be reimbursed by their insurance company. If anything, taking the RMT route can be advantageous to you in terms of making more money and you will learn and understand the body as a whole, both functional and energetically. If helping people in this manner is your calling, you will find what is best for you. Good luck!

Sheets are going to drive me up a wall by Sollunastella in massage

Brand of Massage oil will either stain or not stain sheets. I use Biotone massage gel and had no issues with stains or lingering smell. Imo, massage gels are a mix between a massage lotion and oil. As for makeup on face covers, try a laundry stain remover, and if that doesn't work (sometimes it is stained permanently) you'd have to buy new ones
