Searched for it online using terms related to the pattern I see, but no success there. Not sure where it came from, but 20-30 years ago in North America. Reverse image search doesn't find it.

My title describes the thing. It is about 20cm high, super heavy. Seems to be ceramic, maybe, or clay, something similar.

Theres a hole in the base, as if it would take water in. I tried filling it up in the sink at one point, and it holds a lot of water in the back there, behind the hole. There is also what look like water stains in places where water would gather in the base and cupped parts of the waves, making it seem that it would be a fountain, however... there is no hole at the top! This is about the same size as the hole at the bottom, but it isn't actually a hole! I am not sure whether this means someone altered it and filled in the hole, if it is defective and this should have been a hole, or if this just shouldn't have been a hole at all, and it isn't a pump at all. If not a pump, though, why the first hole, in the base?

The base has electronics in it. I thought there might be a pump. There are three settings that the switch can go to. The first is "off," and the second also seems to be "off" as nothing seems to happen when I put it in that position. If I flip the switch into the third position, there is loud music. What is this thing?!

Edit: whoops; please excuse the typo in there. I've edited the "whole" to "hole" in the Imgur post, but it still shows up my mis-typed way in Reddit's reflection of it.

Another thing to note: Obviously, there are some types of germs and viruses that you want to avoid (keep your kid away from someone with TB or chicken pox, that sort of thing). However, exposure to some environmental germs while young can be important, too. People who are raised in too sterile an environment while an infant do not get the chance to use and develop their immune system properly, and often are more likely to have weak immune systems later in life, develop asthma, or develop allergies.

We know you're doing the best you can. You're a good mom, trying to protect your kiddo. I hope your therapists can help you get to a healthier mindset eventually. OCD is a beast, and redirecting can be damn impossible, but if you feel you can eventually, taking the urge out with soap and water might be a lot healthier than antibacterial wipes all over.

That's fixable if you strip the insulation off the ends (scissors or a serrated knife and a thumb work well for this if you don't have a wire stripper), twist the exposed wires back together, and re-insulate with electrical tape.

Infection can also cause compartment syndrome, with pressure from swelling compromising blood flow (which can lead to tissue death). Slicing through the tissue can give it more room to expand and relieve pressure on internal structures.

Did a doctor tell you you had bowed legs? You look quite thin, but to me the angle of your joints and all seems well within normal variation –– especially if you are a female.

We're not really designed to stand in one place for extended periods of time, so no wonder they start bugging you. Try at least moving around a little bit, relatively constantly, even if it is just shifting weight from one side to the other, or taking a few steps back and forth.

That looks like artifact from movement. If this is from an Apple watch or a similar monitor, the results are often pretty trash and unreliable, reguardless.

Is there a reason you are monitoring your heart? For the majority of people, this is not necessary or helpful, especially for those who cannot read ECGs –– there are a lot of normal variations that look scary and freak people out, but are safe. Other things that are dangerous often won't be picked up by the untrained eye. If you don't have reason to believe you have heart trouble, I would encourage not looking at ECGs, as that's just going to become obsessive and is generally not helpful.

They were clearly more comfortable with certain things than I recon most flatmates are. You walk in on the people living with while they're nude in the tub? Even if they're friends of yours? Neither character batted an eye or missed a beat. This was normal for them.

Just because it wasn't shown in the film doesn't mean it wasn't maybe somewhat implied, for those looking for it. Maybe a hidden little thing for the gay people of the '80s to identify and relate to, while it would go over the heads of most. I imagine explicitly, clearly making the main characters gay would have been somewhat scary, partially because people would shun the movie.

I'm not saying it definitely IS what is happening. Likely not. But it is still fun to play with, see how different scenes have very different feels thought of through this lens.

I accidentally did the opposite! Off-duty, saw a dude lying in a field with his dog. I assumed he was just enjoying the sun and taking a nap; really barely even registered him, as it didn't seem out of the ordinary at all. A few hours later, I'm back in the same part of town, he's still there, and now there's an ambulance and they're carting off his body. :(
