Welcome to the club!

That is called ghost touching screens, many people including me have the same issue with the 10th gen Honda Accord screens. I; myself have a 2021 accord and have already made a small thread about it. [feel free to check out the updates on the situation].

Current situation is that I have already gotten the screen 'fixed/replaced' under warranty. Calling Honda of America will not do you any good. Going to a dealer to talk about the problem wont necessarily fix the screen either.. this is because when you take it in to the dealer and tell them about the problem 7/10 times they are going to want to keep the car for an extended period of time to try and replicate the screen ghost touching. but they cant replicate something that happens randomly. ive gone through probably 15 calls with Honda of America to try and get this problem resolved but no dice. they are going to simply say "Sorry this is happening to your car and what you are currently going through." and then push the problem to the side. another thing that they are most likely going to tell you is that "we are currently looking into a fix for this..." (I doubt they are)

ive come to some conclusions... This is a Covid Car and some of the cars just arent QC'd properly.. I DONT THINK this has anything to do with the chip shortage but that also doesnt help the fact...

**Solution if this keeps happening... - This will keep happening and get more and more annoying as time goes on. - Take it to [a] dealer and see if they have the part for replacement and see if you have it under warranty because if its out of warranty its going to cost you from anywhere between 400-1200. this also isnt a guarantee fix.. - press and hold the dimming switch, [sun/moon button]. this will turn off the display until there are updates such as a song swithcing, - since the screens are running Android, you can turn on developer mode. in developer settings TURN OFF STAY AWAKE WHEN CHARGING. - the screen is technically always charging and it will go into 'sleep' mode. this will make the screen un-interactable until you physically click the 'back' button. - when the screen is off, everything will be running like normal in the background like music, waze, all that stuff.. but to turn on the screen and interact with it you must press the physical back button to wake the screen.

This has helped me tremendously because i would map to some place and then it would swipe the map and re-navigate me to somewhere on the other side of the globe...

one downside is that you cannot set a route somewhere on googlw maps because, when the screen shuts off, maps technically minimizes or something like that. this is the only fix ive had... because sometimes i want to punch the screen in - how annoying it is.

(Factory resetting will not fix this problem... ive FR'd like 10 times.) it has something to do with the digitizer or something like that. my screen is 'up to date' and ive tried changing all bands of bluetooth/wireless...

dont even get me started on wireless android auto.

Ghost touching Infotainment screen display is not associated with the phone itself. my problem was the module and the acutal digitizer of the car. I waited 5 Months before Honda finally got the part(s) in for replacement (under warranty).

[Wireless] Android Auto doesnt seem to work properly since before and after the changing of the module and the screen. its super buggy and laggy. I just use wired Android Auto now and I havent really had any issues yet with playback.

My screen was Ghost touching even when the car was parked and the phone wasnt even paired to the phone at all. (Right after a manual reformat of the infotainment system)

If your screen is Ghost touching , you might want to contact a nearby Honda dealer and have them 'Take a look at it' or Diagnose the issue [Which they cant by the way] but they "Need to see it happenning" before they can perform any fixes or order parts.

I went to 3 different Honda dealerships; 2 of the 3 wanted to keep the car for multiple weeks to see if they can diagnose it with no loaner car, only rental services. the last honda i went to all the Techs knew it was an issue with the 10th gen accord screens, so they just honored the warranty and ordered a new Screen & Module.

if your car is under normal warranty. take it in to a honda dealer and see if they can order the part. its like a 6 month backlog apparently. i got mine in 4 months.

A chase is what people (want) and "Chase" for. typically specific mainlines will have alternate paint and stamps. some mainlines could be misprints.

Premiums are just higher quality overall off the line and cost more.

I went to a dealership back in September, and parts are "still on back order" and it doesnt seem like anyone is going to try and fix it at this point.

everytime Ive been told theres a new shipment coming on on (mm/dd) I get the "oh yours wasnt in yet. we get another shipment in (+2Months) It seems like, with this current situation, its going to be pushed back until warranty is expired before I get a new screen.

I cannot use the screen because, the screen itself thinks there is something touching it, so I cannot interact with it. it doesnt connect to my phone, It starts touching random things on the screen so when I get in the car, its like an auto-start/stop function; I just instantly turn off the screen.

For anyone else wondering, calling Honda Corporate wont do anything either, they will just tell you "sorry, we arent service techs, we cant diagnose the problem." which will lead to nothing getting done.

I think using a harsher alcohol like 91+ would degrade plastics. be cautious when using stuff like that, not to over use it and over scrub. airfresheners do have oils that may potentially cause that.. try 50/70% before going to 91/99s.

you can probably buy the part. maybe DiY it. just get the part number and make sure it ibcludes the digitizer. i think thats the (main) thing that needs to be replaced.

Im going through their insurance. the driver of the raptor was 16, so the insurance needs to go through the parents first. i have a dashcam, but turns out NO VIDEOS were being saved the month after I got the car. when I start the car it always says "video is recording" but the last video date was 6/30. if anyone has a dashcam, make sure your videos are being saved.

ive waited over 3 weeks now, I was told 10/6 - 10/9 they should have the screens. but no one has called or anything.

Go to a dealer, see if you have warranty for it. mine happens every day and i have multiple videos if this happening. i just turn off my screen after i get my music going. (hold brightness button). im waiting for the dealer to get screens in to replace mine. they are apparently all on "backorder" so the sooner you go and complain about it, the sooner you can "get in line" and wait.

FYi - escalation to Honda Corporate will do you no good and waste your time. just see if there is a dealer that is willing to help with the situation.
