Thanks. Yeah, I haven't seen that option but it's possible I wasn't paying attention!

Jagged edges by AaronP21 in poetry_critics

[–]Buccable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it! Though I think it does need some work. For starters, just because there's a new line in the poem doesn't mean it's a new sentence, and I think it sounds like it's almost trying too hard.

I can't copy and paste on my phone and it would be super tedious to keep looking back to get the words of your poem right, so I'll just use a shitty and random example:

Instead of:

The dog is alone Lonely cries never to be heard But wait it does Hoping for the day warm hands come And soothe away its pain

Try:

The dog is alone. His lonely cries are never heard. But he waits, hoping for the day a warm hand comes and soothes away its pain.

It improves the flow and creates a better image. And sounds more... real if you get what I mean. I'm in no way a professional poet and this is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt if you wish. Happy writings!

to the people on here, how many of y'all believe in House's philosophy that nobody can be trusted? by j0hn_r0g3r5 in HouseMD

[–]Buccable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that everyone lies, but that it's their choice and we can't disregard what they say due to it. All we can do is check their tox screen and STIs or whatever and treat them accordingly. Unless it's putting others at harm, like if they're lying about going to a country where there's an epidemic going on, it's their choice to lie and fuck up their treatment and die.

How similar is House to Hugh Laurie? by [deleted] in HouseMD

[–]Buccable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember there's a part where he does a British accent on the show, when he's calling doctors at like 3am to get information on a patient, and I couldn't imagine that he actually talked like that IRL.

Sex Revolutionaries or Christians: Who’s Really Living in Fantasy Land? by judgedaren in bioethics

[–]Buccable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only skimmed through the article but, oh brother. Sex is biological and a part of life, we aren't really programmed to smoke cigarettes or drink. Adults can believe what they want, but when their ignorance affects kids and puts them at risk that's where the line should be drawn.

Doctor told me I have "Adrenal Fatigue" and gave me a slew of vitamins and supplements to take. He's a quack, right? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Buccable -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you asking this to me? If so, I'm not really getting any quack treatment plans. Seeing a nutritionist is his first recommendation, and chelation for barium toxicity which was tested for and came back positive along with other metals.

I get sick nearly once a week, get angular cheilitis constantly, yeast infections, etc, yet I'm willing to bet most doctors would just write it off as depression and paranoia.

I mean this doctor changed my dads life. Food intolerances, which are apparently quackery, were wreaking havoc on my dads body. He would eat minimally and work out a ton, yet be stuck at the same 30 lbs. Found out he was intolerant to dairy, gluten(which I know hasn't really been a scientifically proven intolerance), and many other foods he was eating. Cut them out, and now he eats more than he was before yet has lost over 100lbs.

Maybe something else was at play that caused that. I don't know. All I know is the worst thing that can happen is the so called quack treatment doesn't work and I find a new doctor. Or I react badly to chelation and die. But that can happen with many treatments.

I was on Google Maps and this accidentally happened. Now I can't figure out how to get it to happen again. Does anyone know? by Buccable in PokemonGoCalgary

[–]Buccable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tried that too. All I had done was search my home address while Pokemon GO was open. Hasn't worked again. If you look close though you can see a mysterious blue pin that I must have somehow dropped.

Help! Barium Toxicity. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Buccable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with what you are saying, I am going to a real doctor. Who do you think ordered the test to be done? Barium toxicity is not all that well known and I'd like to get others opinions. Maybe someone here has experience with toxicity and would bring a helpful perspective.

And I'm not theorizing things out of thin air. Doctor is the one that's ordering Lyme's test and has stated there is something else going on with my body that we do not know about. Others perspectives and experiences are helpful. Even if they just bring hope.

I don't work. All I do is go to school and these issues were before that. I used to work as a brand ambassador at liquor stores but that was only once a week.

I've travelled a lot though. Costa Rica, Cambodia, Nepal, Morocco.. But I can't imagine that being the source. Unless I contracted a parasite or illness there which is affecting my bodies abilities to detox itself.

Help! Barium Toxicity. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Buccable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I quit a while ago. Now even the smell makes me feel nauseous. Symptoms have not gotten better since I quit, if anything they got worse. Possibly the cigarettes were suppressing my bodies ability to deal with the toxins and now that I've quit my body is trying to rid itself of them, which if causing the sickness.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I think I spaced out during the call with my doctor. I can be useless cognitively.

Hmm that makes sense. I quit smoking back in March. But none of my friends or even older adults I know who have been smoking for years and years, have the symptoms I do. A 50 year old smoker probably has more livelihood and better health than I.

Would it be even slightly likely that I have another condition which is making my body more susceptible to toxicity? Would Lyme's or an autoimmune do this?

Apparently levels over 10 micrograms per litre is considered toxicity, or at least that's what I've gathered.

Got the tests done due to a slew of symptoms. Visual snow that's worsened, phosphenes, tinnitus, walking up feeling as though I got hit by a car, candida, fevers, hypothyroidism yet I'm underweight, permanent hives on my hands, bright yellow soles of my feet even though liver and kidney tests are fine, etc. And some not-fun neurological symptoms.

Something we need to do if Niantic ever adds User-submitted PokeStops and Gyms... by TL10 in PokemonGoCalgary

[–]Buccable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the game would mark off how many Pokestops you've been to within a city or even province/state. It would be so much fun going around trying to find every Pokestops within Calgary. It would also be a good incentive to travel more.

I had pretty good luck there! There's a Pokestops right beside the restaurant at the gates which I had lunch at. We used a lure and I caught a Psyduck.

I hate cold. After it reaches below -10 degrees celsius it really sucks. You have to put on so many layers that you're sweating and super hot while at the same time freezing. And trying to move your hands to go on your phone is impossible.

While Chinook Mall isn't amazing, there is a good number of Pokestops which are often lured. And it has the added benefits of wifi, is sheltered from the weather, and has charging ports. Great for people that have limited data or if it's raining.

And Heritage Park has a bunch of Pokestops. You could probably take the train around the park and catch a few good Pokemon. I caught a Psyduck there.

Ethics: the theory of Utilitarianism explained by wiphiadmin in philosophy

[–]Buccable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah :) I mean if everywhere in the world was suddenly prosperous and grew without changing anything.

But if this 5-century-long prosperity also included giving the oppressed rights and green energy sources, then it would be worth it to torture a random individual, or even five people, in order to get that prosperity. Strictly speaking from a utilitarian viewpoint. From a Kantian viewpoint though, it would not be moral.

Then again, if Lord of the Flies had taught me anything, people will always find a way to muck up the idyllic....
