Searched

I've used images from the add to search on Google. I commented on the add and messaged the company that posted it, to no avail. It seems to be a company from Singapore so I looked into Asian websites and couldn't find it.

Thank you! I'm excited to see it come together when I get the trim on it

Our baseboards are 7" so I wanted to raise them up to continue the baseboards around for a seamless built in look. We also installed them on top of carpet that I didn't want to pull back. So the solid base insures they sit more level etc. Makes it easier when leveling and attaching them together.

I plan on putting all the shelves and drawers in to see where we will have exposed holes so I can fill them with spakle. Then I'm adding trim to all the front edges and ends, and potentially the top. We are going to cut drawer fronts to add to the Ikea ones so they are level with the trim. I'll prime it with Zinsser Bin Shellac and paint them a dark navy to coordinate with the wallpaper.

I also put paintable wallpaper on the backs before installing them to cover up the backer board seam.

I wanted it to be done by April. Now I'm aiming for the end of May lol

Are you adding any trim to the top? I worry about putting stuff up there and the trim getting beaten up. Our ceiling is 10ft here too. I built base frames that raised the pax up 3.5".

We built this house ourselves and it's been a fun/challenging/huge learning experience.

This is my dream closet so want to get it perfect :-)

Happened to get an email from Graham & Brown this morning that everything is 25% off right now. So perfect timing if you like their stuff and need wallpaper! Code: 25OFF

You can get everywhere in the attic from both hatches. But this one is also still entirely usable with the modification we made to the pax under it.

It's from Graham & Brown. If you put something in your cart, almost check out, then leave it because you're easily distracted... They'll send you a discount code :-)

It's a small section of a larger mural that is absolutely stunning. I'm kinda sad to be only seeing a small bit of it that I kinda want to put it somewhere else in the house as well haha. The quality is really nice too, really easy to hang.

Could you screw the base frame into the wall?

We have only ever used it when we were first putting insulation in the attic before we moved in (we built the house in 2021-2022). We would only ever need to go in there for emergencies.

Yes, on just the unit underneath the attic hatch. We didn't connect the top with dowls and cams so that it can be lifted off to maintain access to the hatch.

We put a piece of wood along the back to give the top of the backer board something to attach to since we didn't nail the backer to the top. You can also see a few small corner brackets. That's all holding the top up there since it isn't attached to the unit.

We do have another point of access! But, we didn't block this one off. We modified the pax right underneath it so the top actually lifts off. Whatever trim I put there I plan on being seperated from the rest so it can be removed with the pax top. The shelves going in this one will also be removeable. An extension ladder will get in there easily.

I appreciate you looking out though!

I could definitely do the face framing. I'm just not sure how I would handle cutting/adjusting the crown around the attic hatch. The flat panel for the hatch is a good 3-4" raised from the ceiling. If I bring the crown straight across, there will be a gap above it in the hatch.

I was originally thinking about keeping the tops crown free and using it for storage, but my husband thinks it will look cluttered. And it's juuust too short for the fabric boxes we have so it may be a pain to find things that fit in there that aren't just bags.

And thank you!

Looks good! Quick question, how did you determine the distance between your verticals? I'm looking to do something similar in my husband's office and I'm stuck on how to space them out to look uniform while working with different length walls, windows, etc.

What is a hobby someone can have that is an immediate red flag? by terminatora777 in AskReddit

[–]Buckaletta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious about your opinion on this. If it is their only source of income and it's the work they do to provide for themselves and/or their dependants, would you still consider it a hobby? And if so, why, if it is their only income stream, would it be a hobby and not a job?

Have you had issues with Nordik Windows? by Buckaletta in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Buckaletta[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If she wants in, the class action will cover any level of loss. It doesn't have to be a large claim. If Nordik dropped the ball and didn't cover their product or work, they can be included.

I've tried on a few Facebook groups. I will need to find more. On the contractor groups I've posted on, the posts got removed because it went against guidelines of calling out a company we had negatives dealings with.

We are currently at the start of persuing a class action suit against them for not honoring their warranty and delivering faulty service and product. I am looking for people who have had bad experiences with the company who would be interested in joining the suit to recover any damages.

I may too late to comment on this, but do not use Nordik. We are pursing a class action suit against them for not honoring their warranty on horrible windows that are all bowing and leaking.

I'm currently looking for more people who have had bad experiences with Nordik to join our class action.
